My visit was great. He is awesome and the staff is great also.
Dr. Barnes was very professional and took his time to conduct the series of tests required. You could tell that he enjoys the work he is doing. He was very positive, willing to answer questions, and explained what he was doing and why.
He was professional and friendly. He was able to help me with my issue right away.
I have consistently waited between one and two hours to see Dr. Barnes, despite always arriving on-time and with an appointment. This has become very frustrating, and despite the doctor's professionalism, I'm very hesitant to go back to his practice.
Although it was a long wait, Dr. Barnes was very apologetic every time he saw me. When the apt started, I did NOT feel rushed as most doctors. He took the time to get to know me and was extremely personable, sincere, and gave me some great financial advise regarding glasses. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND DR. BARNES!
The office seemed a little disorganized but Dr. Barnes was really nice and addressed my concerns.
I was late for less than 15 mins and she didnt wanna see me ! There was no one in the clinic except me and my 2 kids ! Well I'll never gonna schedual an appointment with her again
It was a good visit
It was a nice office. The staff was friendly and helpful. I'm glad I went to see him.
I waited for almost 2 hours. I requested a fitting for contact lenses - which was not done. Dr Barnes was polite and his staff was very nice - but I wasted an inordinate amount of time - and I was told to come back for a fitting for lenses. I think they are overwhelmed.
Dr. Barnes is an excellent Doctor. He assessed my situation can have me excellent practical advise. He made me feel extremely comfortable. I will be back.
All doctors had good humor and quick hands. They know what they are doing. I will definitely recommend them to family and friends!
Dr Barnes was extremely kind and helpful. Highly recommend him.
Dr. Barnes was very personable and informative, and his staff also was excellent. A friendly, professional office. Leave plenty of time for your appointment as there are several steps and the examination is thorough (and therefore longer).
Great staff members. Very helpful
Really great doctor.
Dr. Barnes is incredibly nice, kind, and professional. I was 10 minutes late to the appointment because I couldn't find parking, so I understand why the wait was longer. The appointment took longer than I had planned (I was there for 2 hours) but I don't mind, because he was very thorough and explained everything he was doing.
Professional and friendly staff. An excellent Doctor.
Very professional and informative.
This appointment was a wonderful experience
I liked all of the staff from the Front office staff to Dr. Barnes. They were friendly, personable, and low-stress! It was like being with family there. I'm glad I found this provider through ZocDoc!
The visit was great! Dr. Barnes is listed as a pediatric opthalmologist so I scheduled an appointment for my daughter who is 3 years old. It wasn't until I was actually at the office on the day of the appointment that I was told he see those who are 10 years and older, which is not a problem I just wish I knew this info before scheduling.
He's possibly one of the most thorough ophthalmologist I've ever been to, and he's really into precautionary treatment which is great for those of us who are migraine sufferers.
Very comforting and informing. I loved the social spirits.
Dr. Barnes saw me when I was experiencing a serious problem with my left eye. He did a thorough exam and put me at ease with his kind and professional approach. I can't recommend him enough. I
Excellent doctor, very knowledgable. Friendly staff
This was my 1st visit with Dr. Barnes, and I was quite impressed with his knowledge of my situation. He resolved it in a timely manner and even told me of another impending issue with my eye.
If you wondering where to go just come to this doctor He is gonna explain every steps to you , Risk factors, treatment and how you take the medication If there is more than excellent I'll give it to this doctor
He was awesome! Very informative and great welcoming staff!
I always find it ironic when medical offices have unilateral expectations. They expect you to be on time, then have you wait for an hour. Dr. Barnes was very kind and courteous, but a simple "Sorry" for an hour in the waiting room doesn't cut it. That kind of set the mood of the appointment considering I was taking time off of work for this. Another thing I would have appreciated is if the office would have informed me before-hand that they do not carry the contacts I was hoping to purchase in-house. I was give my prescription and told to purchase online.
He's a great doctor
He was very professional and helpful.
I think he is very professional and knows his job well. I understood him well, and I will recommend him to all my friends...........
Very friendly and professional.
My visit to Dr Barnes office was an Excellent visit, starting from the receptionist to the MD was excellent and professional.
Dr. Barnes has the best bedside manner! He put me at ease right away and didn't rush me through the appointment. He's knowledgeable, personable, trustworthy, and really took the time to get to know me. I went in as a first-time patient for an eye emergency, but I'll definitely go back to see him again.
Amazing very knowledgeable and professional !
My first two visits went well. When I tried to inform his office that I had my physical for the surgery, I had to call the office three times. The first time I was told to call back; the second time I left a voice message and no one bother to call back and confirm that the message was received; the last time I made sure to inform the person answering that this was my third call. I was set up with an appointment for prescreening. Wait was over an hour, but that did not bother me. What bothered me is that I was left in an exam room and after 20 minutes I decided to show myself as I was forgotten. The technician never informed the doctor that she had completed her task. The doctor then escorted me to the front desk and the tech state I would receive a phone call. Which I did not receive. So I feel as the forgotten patient, I will just find another Ophthalmologist. This office needs more organization.
Excellent clinician. I saw him for both medical and vision needs: Dr. Barnes handled both smartly. His staff was professional, courteous, and helpful. Appointment was better than on time. I'll be seeing him again.
Dr. Barnes is professional, knowledgeable and personable. His staff is pleasant as well.
Dr. Barnes is great. I have seen him for eye infections, contact lenses and glasses. The only downside during my most recent visit was the medical student who is doing a rotation there. I understand he is there to learn and practice and I consider myself a patient person but it took him a LONG time to get through all the initial exams before I could actually see the doctor. His bedside manner was a little strange as well. Despite that awkward encounter, I highly recommend Dr. Barnes!
Dr. Barnes was great and very personable, which is in sharp contrast to my previous eye doctor who was very short on conversation. The only negative thing I have to say is that I wish the office was a little more inviting. I've been to a few doctors' offices this year and all of them looked like they were recently renovated, or if they were somewhat dated, the spaces were at least bright, open and welcoming. Dr. Barnes' office, on the other hand, was dark and felt small.
The doctor had a great bedside manner. I felt quite at ease. Kudos to Nicole at the front office desk for her patience and professionalism.
Awesome! Honest! Caring! Kind! Considerate!
He's a doctor who really cares about his patients.
Friendly staff. Doctor was nice, made jokes, and was very courteous to patient needs.
OFFICE STAFF AND DR WERE VERY PROFESSIONAL AND CURTIOUS
The wait was a little frustrating but once the doctor saw me, the appointment was excellent. Dr. Barnes is very thorough and detailed.
Very professional, explained all the procedures he was doing.
Very Friendly Staff.. Great Beside Manner!!!!!!!!
He is absolutely gifted by God and brilliant --love him.
Dr. Barnes was great and the visit was thorough. There was a bit of a wait, however, due to the fact that none of his staff were in the office. This was odd but it was also shortly after a snow storm so perhaps his staff could not make it to the office because of that.
Despite the wait I had a great experience. I will definitely continue to come.
The staff was excellent, very helpful, professional, and friendly. Dr. Barnes was excellent, very professional and I especially thanked him for taking the time to explain my medical issue in layman terms to easily understand it.
I made the appointment for my mom and was so impressed that I made an appointment for myself
Dr. Barnes and his staff were all very friendly. Seemed like there may have been a few too many people scheduled around the same time as my appointment, so we were all shuffled around and the appointment time took longer than usual, but overall fine.
I had a very long wait, but once I met the doctor I was very pleased. He was nice, concerned, and informative.
Professional, knowledgeable, quick but thorough.
Dr. Barnes is very knowledgeable. I have had problems with my former glasses which were prescribed by another ophthalmologist. Thanks to Dr. Barnes 's accurate diagnosis and new prescription, I have no more eye problem nor headache. On top of that, he gave me very useful advice about how to keep my eyes healthy.
I took my 3 year old son to have his eyes examined for an astigmatism I was told he had. The Dr. was very nice and spent about 15 minutes examining him before letting me know it would be better for me to take him to a pediatric eye doctor. He was extremely nice and even offered to refund my co-pay.
A professional at its best, thank Dr. Barnes for being our type! Good work, I got right in and right out for a repeat visit today.
I still have not been emailed my glasses/contact prescription and I was supposed to receive it three days ago. There is always an excuse. My favoritecwas, "The woman who sends emails is not in today." In addition, the doctor took so long to see me that we had to rush through our appointment. My experience was not good. I won't be going back. He just lost a patient.
Great doctor, office was not great. I was called in early but ended up having to wait over 2 hours because of an emergency consultation.
Very much confused about the diagnose you made. I really do not know what to do, should I be happy.
Super knowledgeable. He had a med student following him and as he explained everything to her, he made sure I was following along as well. Made sure I understood any potential long-term concerns for my eye and was extremely friendly in the process.
I arrived at 9:45 for a 10:00 appointment, and when I signed in, I noticed that another patient had been given the same appointment time. That explains why it was about 10:45 before I was seen. The office was full of patients.
Very excellent visit.
Dr. Barnes was awesome! I took my son for his first eye appointment and he was so kind and attentive. He thoroughly explained what was going on to me and my children. He gave a mini lesson on the eye and my son's condition. I was very impressed as an educator. In my experience, doctors typically just go through the motions but Dr. Barnes performed his duties as well as showed 3 young men their limitless possibilities! Thank you Dr. Barnes!!!
Dr Barnes and his staff are fantastic!
Great physician with excellent bedside manner; his office could use some improvement (claims & billing especially, as I had to navigate receiving a bill despite the fact that he is in network for my plan).
He was very good at with all that he did. However, my first preference in a doctor would be someone who is not only allopathic in their approach but is versed and aware of effective alternative medical practices.
A fantastic doctor with superb bedside manner. Even though the office assistant claimed that she hadn't received my ZocDoc appointment and Dr. Barnes was about to walk out the door, Dr. Barnes reassured me that he had seen the ZocDoc email and that he was not leaving anytime soon. Dr. Barnes is very thorough, professional, and knowledgeable. He diagnosed my problem immediately (giant papillary conjunctivitis... doesn't that sound so scary!) and gave me advice on how to address the issue. He also recommended an eyeglasses store where I could pick up a pair of glasses since I am allergic to my contact lens. Overall I am very happy with my visit, and I will be seeing him again in two weeks to follow up on my problem.
I have switched doctors as my last visit I waited over an hour. Prior to that I showed up twice and they forgot to call me that the doctor was not in. Great doc, just hard to coordinate.
Very happy with Dr. Barnes! He was extremely professional.
His office staff was willing to squeeze me in for an emergency Christmas week so I expected there would be a wait. Very professional with great bedside manner. Will return soon for contact lenses and glasses!
Great doctor. Quick and informative.
Great bedside manner. Very thorough. Answered and addressed my concerns. Professional staff, very clean office.
Rude, incompetent reception staff, great doctor.
Under than the long wait (I was called to come in earlier but still waited longer than the original time) he was affable and professional and I enjoyed my experience
Quite pleased. The thoroughness and patience he displays with his patients are commendable qualities and very much appreciated. Excellent experience!
I thought Dr. Barnes and his staff were friendly. I felt the wait-time was a bit too long.
Very long wait in a very small office with no windows. The place could also use a major remodeling. I only saw him for about 10 minutes. He seemed nice enough but I probably won't be back here again.
He was great, but the length that I had to wait would make me question whether to return here. Also, they randomly charge you extra costs for symptoms that you just mention in passing.
Dr Barnes and his medical assistant treated my daughter's eyes very well. The staff was polite and professional.
I admit I hate going to the eye doctor. But I do like being able to see so I decided it was time to find a doctor and get my eyes checked out. Dr. Barnes is the best eye doctor. Very knowledgeable, great personality and he took the time to understand and address all of my concerns.
Dr. Barnes is highly knowledgable and provides his patients with a comfortable and friendly environment. New staff training made this visit a little more hectic and unorganized. I'm sure this was a one time experience. My consultation was interrupted so another patient could have her eye exam.
Very pleasant demeanor. Explained things well. I did not feel rushed, even though I knew he had to leave for a hospital emergency (they asked me to come early to accommodate that, which I was happy to do).
One the rare best still around.
The receptionist was a little bit on the rude side, I'm not sure if she was having a bad morning or if that's how she is. Anyway,I scheduled my appointment and minutes later, I was called because THEY needed to reschedule me. That kind of annoyed me because they were said to be available.. Regardless, Dr. Barnes answered all my questions and took very good care to my needs! Despite my first impressions, the experience with the doctor was good. I would recommend him
He was great, the staff was nice and accomodating.
Very thourough and professional.
Everyone was very nice, but it took three tries to get my prescription right. I went in for my first visit in January and still haven't received a correct prescription and it's almost May. I'm very frustrated. To their credit, they didn't make me pay for any of the corrections (the visit or the lenses).
He was caring and professional.
I thought he was very careful with regard to his examination and that he showed strong interest in keeping my eyes in a healthy state.
There was a long wait to see Dr. Barnes, but he personally apologized for this, which I appreciated. The rest of the appointment was very efficient and quickly completed, but not in a way in which I felt I was not having my eyes examined properly. He's very personable and easy going. I will definitely be using him as my official DC eye doctor in the future.
I enjoyed my visit with Doctor Barnes.
My visist was great.
Dr. Barnes was very friendly, thorough, and efficient. His assistant saw that I was sold toric lenses previously and noted how my prescription didn't justify the increased cost (something I had thought on my own). I appreciated her honest. Highly recommended.
Dr. Barnes was great! I appreciate how he took the time to explain the connection between my eyes and my lifestyle. Very personable -- and mindful of solutions to best fit a student budget!
The doctor and his staff were friendly and answered all of my questions. The doctor was thorough and I would recommend him to anyone looking for an ophthalmologist!
Let's just say that Dr. Barnes is now my eye doctor. Sandra
A very good doctor who knows what he is doing and is friendly and makes you feel at ease. Highly recommended.
