Dr. Berkel was very kind and personable. Really takes the time to go over your history and give insights and thoughts. She is professional but also warm and friendly and very open. The only downside was the wait time which was long.

She's obviously very good at bedside manner and at helping us laymen understand lab results or medicines. She's easy to talk to and a good listener. I just wish we were seen on time.

This Doctor has excellent bed side manners. She reviews your medical history, your medication. If she finds any abnormalities, she will get test order right away.

Dr. Berkel was excellent during my initial office visit! Very thorough, very cordial, very warm. She treated me like a person--like she really cared about me and my over all health. My follow-up visit was equally wonderful. She went over my bloodwork in an exceptionally thorough manner, and shared some minor points that NO doctor had ever taken the time to point out! I thought I had found my forever doctor. <3
But then...
About a month later a health issue that I had shared with her during one of my visits got increasingly worse. In addition, I needed a refill on some pain medication (I recently had a total knee replacement). I called...and I called...and I called...and the phone rang...and rang...and rang!!!! Some of the times I did get an answering machine, and I left several messages (increasingly frantic!). Finally, after about two weeks of this, her office manager finally answered the phone and said that Dr. Berkel had a baby, and that they didn't know when she would be back in the office.
I can't tell you the disappointment that shot through me. Of course, I hope that everything is OK with Dr. Berkel. But at the same time, it was really frustrating to call your doctor over and over and over again and not get even a message service, or even some type of answering machine with a message saying that she would not return to the office for an indefinite time.
And what about a backup?
I'm sorry. It was just such a letdown. You can try Dr. Berkel--if she's back she really is an amazing doctor. But just keep my experience in mind, because it really and truly let me down.

I am very glad that I chose Dr. Berkel! She is very kind, intelligent, analytical and compassionate. She has helped me uncover a few things I have been battling with for years (that I didnt know about). She takes her time with you, likes to add up the dots right in front of your eyes. Her staff is also amazing!

I had my first appointment with Dr. Berkel today and, other than the wait time, I was beyond satisfied. It was well worth the wait. I'm chalking the wait time up to the fact that she's such a fantastic Doctor, that everyone wants to see her! Dr. Berkel was the first PCP that I feel truly cared about my health and well being. She was thorough during her examination, asked all the important questions, and most importantly LISTENED when I was expressing some concerns with my health. She was so friendly and made me feel 100% comfortable. I hope that she will remain my PCP forever :). I would highly recommend her.

I have been looking for a good primary doctor for a long time and based on such great reviews, decided to make an appointment with Dr. Berkel. I've finally found my doctor! She was wonderful, really took her time with me, asked lots of questions and answered all of mine. I told her my concerns with my health and she took all steps to get me back on track. So happy I found her. She has a genuine warmth which is hard to find these days with doctors. Highly recommend her!

Dr. Berkel was overall ok. First off, parking at the office was awful and I had to park two blocks away. The office is small and a lot of other patients had their kids, which made the waiting room feel even smaller.
After about an hour and a half of waiting, I was finally seen by the doctor. She did a thorough job and brought up concerns I didn't think of. However, she wanted to keep prescribing me a lot of medicines for everything that I thought weren't huge issues. Being a young patient I personally feel uncomfortable taking prescribed medicine.
Overall, my experience wasn't good and I will be looking for another primary care physician.

This doctor is very thorough, asked many questions as it was my first visit and I was extremely thrilled with her knowledge and understanding of my symptoms. I intend to use her as my primary physician and I highly recommend her to everyone.

Dr. Berkel and her staff were very nice. They took blood for testing and I would not have even known blood was being drawn. There were no other patients in the waiting room when I entered or left which I find to be confusing at a doctor's office, but the building itself was well maintained. Parking is a hassle as the lot only has eight or so parking spots.

Good and bad---very nice Dr. with good intentions/personality. However, she ran 45 minutes late to the office. I was her first patient of the day. Aside from the tardiness, she also did not view my chart before she came in to see me. But she is very nice and will take her time even when late and answer questions.
