Dr. Richard T. Braver is a Double Board Certified Podiatric Foot & Ankle Surgeon specializing in children and adult sports medicine and in correcting deformities of the foot and ankle. He is also regarded as an authority in using orthotics to help children, teen, and adults walk and/or exercise better for a multitude of conditions and pains. His passion for care and success in treating problems such as heel pain, bunions, Achilles and shin pain has propelled his practice beyond most others. Dr. Braver keeps current with new technologies and receives over 50 hours of extra training each year. He performs and lectures on PRP injection therapy to resolve heel and Achilles pains often in one treatment. In 2013, Dr. Braver has been giving workshops to other surgeons on stem cell treatments to enhance bone healing for fractures and non unions. He performs a European side incisional approach to bunion surgery to enable patients to return to athletic shoes in 10 days. He has performed hundreds of ankle ligament and tendon surgeries, many using radiofrequency techniques to augment an early return to activity.
Dr. Braver treats foot and ankle problems for all the sport teams at Fairleigh Dickinson and Montclair State University. He started in Englewood 20+ years ago and as word of mouth spread and to accommodate the many coaches and physicians who refer to him, offices were opened in Fair Lawn and Riverdale. To ensure that all patients are treated in a timely manner, Dr. Philip Messenger and Dr. Gregory Tamagnini have joined the practice. Upon first arriving and filling out paperwork I asked to pay my copay. They responded that I'll pay after my visit because there may be added fees. OK... well fast forward an hour later I received inserts for my shoes because my feet are "kinda flat." Mind you I have no foot pain at all. I asked if they will fix the problem that I'm there for and Braver said probably not. What? When paying at the end I find out that the inserts aren't covered by insurance, great. Don't waste your time going here. Also, I initially made an appt on Zocdoc only to find out that the suggested appt times they have are inaccurate and I needed to reschedule.
