They are professional and thorough. The waiting room is a little small so the waiting is a little uncomfortable if there are lots of people. But overall, they are to the point and get the job done.

Dr. Ortiz has been at this location for more than 20 years and has served second and third generations from the San Antonio area. Available six days a week, Dr. Ortiz takes walk-ins and often fits contact lens patients with a pair of sample lenses on the first visit. A just wonderful visit. Dr Ortiz and his team are top notch. Drove 30 miles and past many other doctors to see him. Observed his team treat every patient with personal care to each. Great place and walked out with great contacts that feel wonderful. Other doctors push what they think on you not what is the best fit and technology.

I previously gave this dr and his office a 3 star rating due to issues with scheduling resulting in my not getting to see the dr at all. Im not sure where the miscommunication came in, but we were able to get everything worked out. Dr ortiz was quick, thorough, and very proffessional. Offic staff was friendly and helpful. Im so glad i gave them another chance.

I've visited this doctor twice. The first time, they saw me right away, and the doctor was very friendly and professional. However the woman who handles the check in and paper work seemed a little confused and gave me complications with my insurance. She charged me a large cost amount (it's been about two years. Zocdoc doesn't like when you specify cost amount) after my exam explaining to me that was with my insurance. I assumed she knew what she was doing, yet I was confused that my insurance plan was that amount. Then I came in today and dealt with the same lady at first. She looked up my info and told me they don't accept my insurance plan. I told her I was a previous patient and I've seen this doctor before. She said the previous time I saw this doctor, my insurance was not covered because they do not have this plan a part of their office. So if I were to go through with the eye exam without insurance, it would be the same amount cost as the first time I visited (zocdoc does not like it when you specify the cost). I then realized that was the same amount I paid last time when she originally told me that was part of my insurance plan.
I will never return here again. Although the doctor was great, their office front does not seem like they know what they are doing. She should have relayed this info to me the first time. I have Superior Vision, and Zocdoc suggested this office as the first one. I'm sorry, but until they find a new office manager, I do not recommend this place if you have Superior Vision.

Dr Ortz was very personable and professional, very nice and pleasant man. The eyeglass sales lady however was very pushy. We spent about 20 minutes discussing the details of the purchase, I decided in the end not to get the glasses, after which her attitude turned judgmental and dismissive. Other than that the visit was very nice.

Doctor Oritz was very professional and polite. A few of his staff members seemed a little lost when it came to organizing my insurance and providing me samples with contacts. That was a little frustrating, but luckily, Doctor Oritz took matters to his own hands to assure I was getting the correct prescription and work.
