Dr. Simon and Dr. Ross are amazing! However, their staff is terrible. I waited 20 minutes to check out after my appointment. The lady at the desk was chatting with other coworkers and I finally asked if I was able to leave. She glared at me and asked who I was, despite already asking that 20 minutes prior. I explained that I was only trying to check out. I could see my chart sitting one foot away from her. She finally found my chart and started processing my information. Then, out of surprise she started talking bad about Dr. Ross! I thought she was talking to me, but she wasn't. She was on her airpods complaining to someone about how Dr. Ross doesn't leave the patients charts in the right spot. Let me just be clear, Dr. Ross is an angel and I clearly saw her hand the girl my chart. I also heard her complain about how Dr. Ross always wants her to take the patients images prior to their appointment and she was not going to do it. Crazy! Dr. Ross and Dr. Simon are amazing (I have seen both). They just need a better staff.

My family and I have seen Dr. Simon and his wife, Dr. Ross for a few years for our eye needs. They are always so kind, knowledgeable and easy to communicate with. They have changed their staff members from the time I started going to them. I recently visited the office and their newest staff member (I think her name is Amy) conducted my pre-test exams. She was very friendly, soft-spoken, and easy to understand when explaining what to do and what each machine does. I was shocked to learn that she had just started working at the office for about a week because she was knowledgeable and worked the machines well. The reason for my one-star rating was because when it was time to check-out and the doctor told me that the other staff member was going to finalize my paperwork, I saw that she was watching a movie on her phone in front of the computer screen and had an earpiece on. She told me to take a seat, which I did for about 20 minutes while she answered her personal phone calls. I know this because I was able to hear her speak from the waiting area, and I know she wasn’t speaking to her coworker because she was assisting other patients with their exams. This was very unprofessional, rude and inconsiderate of my time. I waited 20 minutes just to get my prescription from the receptionist. And she didn’t even apologize for having me wait that long!
Overall: Pre-test exam went well, actual eye exam went well, check out process DID NOT go well due to a lazy and unprofessional staff member.

My appointment started with Dr. Simon making snide comments about my job in government service under this administration. It was pedantic and disrespectful. Regardless of my political views, denigrating public service jobs in this city seems like a weird move. I also don't want to talk politics with a person I have never met. I just want to get my eyes checked.
My appointment was 15 minutes behind schedule.
