I have great respect for Dr. Smith, however, getting a live human to answer the phone is next to impossible. The answering machine is always full and when someone does answer the phone she is not exactly friendly. I suppose just having a job isn't enough, she has to be condescending as well. Not just to me but also about other patients in front of me. She claims to leave messages when appointments are cancelled yet I never get any of them and it's a 35-40 drive to their office.

Dr. Richard Smith is amicable. He listens to your issues, if you have adverse reactions to any medication he prescribes and adjusts accordingly to your needs. He doesn't push high price medications and he seems to understand that the majority of patients my age do not have insurance and he makes accommodations to offer a lesser expensive, just as a effective alternative. He also looks up which pharmacies in my area offer the best prices. I drive approximately 30-35 miles across town to see him as he is more understanding than doctors who only want to push the high price and, in my opinion, more dangerous pills on the market. I would recommend him to anyone who asks my opinion.

Dr. Smith was very kind when I met him for my initial appointment. However, I have been trying to speak with him or a member of his office staff and have not heard back despite calling six times in the last week. I find this unethical and irresponsible.

Dr. Smith is great. I saw him for over a year. Unfortunately, his new office staff are terrible. The phone system has always been bad but the new staff made it impossible. If you could get through, they would NOT do what they said they would. I was left unable to reschedule appointments or even get my medication refilled. Now I have to wait a few months to be able to get into a new doctor.

I think he is a very kind and understanding man. I have been going to him for more than a year. His staff is friendly and well informed. I would recommend him to anyone needing a doctor who doesn't tell you what you need and calls it a day. He listens and adjusts your needs to what resources he has safely available. He is very respectable in my opinion.

Dr smith was professional and down to earth. I found him easy to talk to as he took his time to listen to my thoughts and actively engage with my concerns. I would highly recommend Dr Smith as someone to partner with you for better health.
The receptionist was polite and helpful as well.

Great, knowledgable doctor. I had to wait a long time but it was well worth it. He was very kind and answered all of my questions and explained to me how the brain works. I would recommend him to anyone!

This doctor seems like a genuine caring practitioner whose only goal is to help. Unfortunately, his office staff is a revolving door of receptionists who have billed my insurance incorrectly and failed to properly schedule me so I end up showing up to appointments only to be turned away. It is IMPOSSIBLE to reach Dr. Smith in case of an emergency. He never gets back to me in a timely manner. He has cancelled my appointments countless times. He has failed to get back to me when I have called his after-hours emergency line and he is on-call. The way this office is run is dangerous and he should know better. It is frustrating to put your life in the hands of a doctor who takes his responsibilities so lightly.

Unable to connect with real persons for 18 days when my medications not faxed. One medication I was out of was written the day of my appointment, but that has now also run out. The ZocDoc number given to my review and email for trouble said they only deal with appointments. The answering service said they will call the office, despite my telling them they either don't answer or says mailbox is full.
I like my physician but the administrative end needs lots of work. They also cancelled two of my iniital appointments by email less than 24 hours from the time of my appointment.

Definitely feel more secure knowing Dr. Smith is caring for me during my illness. He is very current on treatments and medications; he showed great respect for my own knowledge of my disease. He also scored high when he actually read the forms I had filled out as part of my evaluation.

He typically has a long waiting time, but it's only because he is so great. He has seriously helped me so much and I've recommended him to friends and family as well. Very caring, patient, and friendly and even managed to help me out when I lost my insurance. Could not recommend him more.

Dr. Smith is direct and to the point. He listens sincerely when I explain my difficulties and he always has a very supportive demeanor when it comes to taking my opinions into consideration and comparing them to his professional experience and knowledge. I feel he truly cares about his patients and I would highly recommend him to anyone who has had a bad experience with a crack psychiatrist so they can see what a true professional really is. Thank you, Dr. Smith for your time and your empathy.

Dr. RI chard Smith was extremely knowledgeable. We are so glad that we where lucky enough to find him. I have been having trouble with my medications. He reviewed my meds list and pointed out what he thought the problem issues where. He developed a program that hopefully will resolve my serious medical issues. My wife and I where extremely impressed with his sincerity, knowledge and his humanity.

Dr. Smith is truly a wonderful doctor and man. I was so impressed by his knowledge, understanding nature and the time he took to ask me questions and explain things to me. He is refreshing to say the least. It is so hard to find good doctors who listen to their patients and explain things as well. I highly recommend him. Proof of this is I drive from two counties away to see him. He is awesome!

Dr. Smith was easy to speak to and I was comfortable sharing my thoughts with him. He even managed to get a few laughs out of me during the session. He was very informative and helped me understand much of what I was feeling and the reasons why.

There is not much more praise I can add that hasn't already been said. I can only confirm all the great things that had been said about Dr. Smith.
He, his staff, and his office are very down to earth, there is nothing pretentious, threatening, or that screams out " I'm a Dr. and I'm better than you". I don't feel comfortable with any Doctors, Dr. Smith and his staff are different.
More than anything I would like to thank Dr. Smith for helping me get my life back. There was so much I had been missing.
Thank You!!

What a wonderful doctor. I was very nervous at first, but Dr. Richard Smith made me VERY relaxed. Very soft spoken. He took everything seriously and made me feel special. I am so glad I chose him for my doctor. I am actually looking forward to my next appointment!!

It was the first visit but I really liked him. He has a very laid back and open way about him that makes him very easy to talk to. I was very anxious going in and though I never fully got rid of the nerves he made me feel quite calm. I think it'll get easier as he continues working with me. He was very kind and understanding. It felt like he had a genuine interest even when he was doing obvious assessment and note taking. He never made me feel judged or less than. He created and reiterated that I was in a safe environment and didn't need to feel uncomfortable or anxious. I never thought I'd end up seeking help for my mental health but I'm glad, thus far, that he's my doctor. I'll also say that his receptionist was wonderful too. She was super sweet and very easy to work with as far as being set up as a new patient and making subsequent appointments. Her personality creates a nice, calm environment that kind of puts you at ease while you wait for your appointment. It doesn't feel super clinical. This visit definitely set up a nice feel for future appointments and I look forward to working with Dr. Smith.

Really easy to talk to as well as professional & very knowledgeable. Worlds apart from other docs I've had, especially on First Visits where it can be long & drawn-out with paperwork. The receptionist & he were both so friendly and he genuinely seemed to care about getting to understand and help me. (Unlike my previous Dr's office in Clearwater where I only actually even saw her-the actual Dr. writing my prescriptions, twice in a year & a half of monthly visits - & only upon request!) Thank You Katie and Dr. Richard Smith! I am very glad I found your office!

I didn't mind the wait at all. The waiting room is smaller, and felt comfortable. The front desk secretary was so sweet and patient with everyone she encountered. I called prior to my appointment to see exactly what I needed to bring and a different secretary answered and again, was so helpful and extremely nice. Dr Richard Smith was so easy to talk to. I've had experiences with other doctors in the past, who were no where near as patient and understanding as Dr Smith. The doctors in the past were so quick to place a label on me because of my family history, but that's exactly the opposite of what Dr Smith did. He listened to my concerns, and really took time to get to know me. I will definitely be returning next month, and thereafter.
