I found Dr. Zuckerbeg through ZocDoc. At our first meeting he was inquisitive, knowledgable and thoughtful. I got the feelingthat he listened carefully to what I was saying, and he offered clear insight with a good deal of experience behind it. I will continue sessions with him--would recommend.

Dr. Zuckerberg is very easy to talk to & a good listener. He has put things into perspective for me &if I veer off track helps me get back on track. In more troubling times he has been available to me to help me through a crisis. I would highly recommend him.

About Richard Zuckerberg

Psychotherapy can provide a unique opportunity for self-understanding, and exploration of new ways of being with others. I work interpersonally and encourage my patients to tell their life stories so they can understand how they came to be who they are. People come to see me for various reasons. Most have some awareness of their inner selves, and continue to struggle with issues of depression and anxiety. The people I see are facing challenges with personal satisfaction in their work lives and their relationships and to improve self-esteem. My style of therapy is to encourage self understanding, and to create an openness to interaction as well. I have been told by my patients that they feel that I provide a safe and accepting space to assist with self-exploration, and to "try on" new ways of being. One of the goals of the therapy is to help my patients clarify past relational patterns that have been repeated over time and are impediments to healthier choices. Therapy is a process of self exploration, and exploring new ways of being, over time. Many challenges are encountered along the way. But at its best, the therapy experience can lead to deeper self-understanding, an improved sense of overall self-esteem, and relief from painful symptoms. In therapy I help to create the opportunity to live a more fulfilled, productive, and satisfied life. As a co-founder of a psychoanalytic training institute, my career has included interests in teaching and supervising psychotherapists. As a teacher I have explored the many factors that are necessary to be a successful therapist and how to optimize positive experiences and outcomes in therapy.

(I have been seeing Dr. Zukerberg for approximately 6 months after he was recommended by a friend). I have found him to be honest, a good listener, and helpful in guiding explorations into various personal experiences and perspectives that led me to seek out his care.

My visit was professional, with understanding. We discussed issues of great importance, with Dr Zuckerberg showing concern, empathy and perspective. We discussed options for the future and ways to look past insignificant details. Looking forward to my next session.
