Dr. Richelle Bean graduated Cum Laude from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, Arkansas with a bachelors in biology. She obtained her optometry degree as a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa Optometric Honors Society at the University of Houston College of Optometry in Houston, Texas. She completed her first internship at Bellaire Family Eye Care, Houston, Texas, where she specialized in pediatric optometry care and specialty contact lens fitting. She completed her second internship at the Cedar Springs Eye Clinic, Dallas, Texas, with an emphasis on management of ocular disease. She is a certified Therapeutic Optometrist and Optometric Glaucoma Specialist.
In her free time, Dr. Bean loves spending time with her family and friends. She enjoys attending sporting events and country concerts with her husband, Philip, and of course watching Arkansas Razorback football.

Very personable and knowledgeable. Makes you feel comfortable and provides service in a very thorough and quick manner. She's been a great optometrist since the first visit and I will go back every time! The office is extremely modern and welcoming. Staff was excellent.

Absolutely the BEST!!!! I was scared, worried, and did not know what was going on. Dr. Bean, and ALL the staff were exceptional in making me feel I was going to be well cared for ( I have been RN for 22 yrs). They got me in, ran all the tests, and I did not sit waiting to be seen. That crew took care of me like no one has ever done and did so like I had been going to them for years! I am moving to San Antonio in a couple weeks, but I can tell you I WILL drive the 4.5 hrs from down there to be seen by Dr. Bean for anything related to my vision! I mean every word!!!!

I think Dr Richelle Bean was fantastic. But I was not happy with the fact that the office did not provide me my Contact lens prescription. I realized later that they have to provide it to me by law. I had to order contact lens through them which is not economical.
Also during my visit to pick up the lens, I was kept waiting and the staff provided service to people who arrived after me so overall I would not go back.

I love my appointment with Dr. Bean. She was absolutely great and helped me figure out my problem. I was so happy. I set an appointment up this morning, and came in no problem at all. I will be back next week, and will continue to come here. Everyone in the office was super nice and helpful the entire time.

Dr. Bean and her staff are wonderful! Every single person I encountered was friendly and helpful. They even helped me work through my budget to get some really cute frames! Their frame selection is a bit more limited than other "big box" type locations, but the selection is still great and the stellar service is worth having a bit less to choose from. Dr. Bean/First Eye Care will definitely be my permanent Optometry office!
