Rikhev Kashyap, DO is a sports medicine physician specializing in the non-operative management of a variety of musculoskeletal problems in pediatric and adult patients. As a former athlete, Dr. Kashyap appreciates the importance of keeping active even through pain or injury. He cares for patients of all ages and activity levels. Dr. Kashyap believes strongly in forming a partnership with every patient to understand their individual goals and how best to achieve those through tailored treatment plans. Dr. Kashyap was born and raised in Cincinnati, OH, where he completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Cincinnati. He then moved to Chicago, IL where he completed his medical school training at Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine, followed by Family Medicine residency at La Grange Memorial Hospital. Dr. Kashyap went on to complete a Fellowship program in Primary Care Sports Medicine at Rush University Medical Center. He has experience working with DePaul University (NCAA Division I), and several professional and semi-professional sports teams including the Chicago Bulls (NBA), Chicago Fire (MLS), Chicago White Sox (MLB), Chicago Steel (USHL) and Athletes Unlimited Softball. Dr. Kashyap also worked with performing arts athletes at the Joffrey Ballet and has covered mass events, having volunteered in the medical tents at the Chicago Marathon several times. Dr. Kashyap is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine in Family Medicine and Sports Medicine. His practice provides joint and musculoskeletal injection therapies, fracture care, concussion management, compartment pressure testing and sports physicals.

Dr. Kashyap is a really excellent doctor. The medical staff took an X-ray for me before I saw the doctor. The doctor himself conducted an extremely thorough examination, asked lots of questions, and then discussed the results and treatment plan with me. He also went over the X-ray image with me and pointed out relevant findings. His diagnosis and recommendations were clear, precise, logical, and backed up by evidence. He also chose interventions that would be the least invasive to start, before considering more invasive measures (this is essential to me as someone who wants to carefully preserve my overall health and avoid high-risk procedures). I strongly recommend this doctor. He helped me figure out what was going on with my exercise-related injury, which had been puzzling me for months. I appreciate Dr. Kashyap’s depth of expertise and precise and careful diagnosis and treatment.

I was late (I did communicate with the office through out the day) and Dr. Kashyap took me as his last patient even with his busy schedule. He listened to what I had to say and gave great responses. I didn’t feel rushed or like he didn’t care. My feet were super sweaty and he didn’t make me uncomfortable when he had to look at it for his examination (of course he dawned on gloves) I will be returning ??

My visit had a delay due to the patient ahead of me . This was due to an error on the patient’s referral for X-rays . The technician, nurse and then the Doctor all apologized to me which helped tremendously to alleviate my prior disappointment. The Doctor had a great bedside manner and I would definitely recommend him to anyone who needs an orthopedic appointment.

The front desk staff and attendant were very friendly and welcoming. I arrived early and was seen within ten minutes.
