Rise Curiel began his career in health care as a physical therapy technician (PTT). After gaining a love for medicine and a respect for the body’s ability to recovery from injuries, he continued his education and training as an EMT/Paramedic and worked as a first responder on an ambulance.
Rise went on to receive his Bachelor’s of Science in Exercise Science from Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah. After that he obtained a Masters as a Physician Assistant at Samuel Merritt University in Oakland California. Rise Curiel is an NCCPA Certified Physician Assistant and licensed by the Arizona Regulatory Board of Physician Assistants.
Upon graduation he worked in the correctional department for the state of Utah, providing a wide range of services including Family Medicine, Urgent Care, and Emergency Cree. Now, after working 8 years in the medical field, he feels he has come full circle to working at BackFit Health + Spine. He feels that BackFit is the kind of environment that first sparked his love for service for those who are suffering from pains and injuries.
Outside of BackFit, Rise enjoys spending time with his wife, two sons, and daughter. They enjoy playing by the pool, hiking, going on bike rides, and visiting the Phoenix Zoo and Arizona Science Center.
Rise strives to gain his patients’ trust and being their partner on the road to recovery.
