Dr. Handelsman is a licensed psychologist and marriage and family therapist. He is a graduate of Wayne State University where he earned his Ph.D. A highly skilled psychologist, he works primarily with adults suffering from depression, anxiety and mood disorders. He has an affinity for working with couples to resolve relationship conflict and help them learn to create the relationship envisioned when they fell in love.
He has extensive training through the Institute for Imago Relationship Therapy and is an advanced clinician and workshop presenter.
For 22 years Dr. Handelsman was the founder and Executive Director of the Center for Contemporary Psychology, a comprehensive outpatient mental health clinic. He is currently in private practice in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan.

I have been working with Dr. Handelsman since 2013. I have been doing individual work as well as work with my spouse. Dr. Handelsman has helped me recognize what triggers my anxiety and how to respond to it. I have grown tremendously and have a new outlook on life. I wouldn't have been able to grow without the help of Dr. Handelsman. I look forward to continuing my work with him.
