Originally from San Diego, Dr. Lasting attended New York Medical College in order to pursue his medical degree. He continued his medical education at the Mercy Hospital and Los Angeles County USC Medical Center. Here, He completed an internship program and received residency training in obstetrics and gynecology.

Dr. Lasting was very informative and the med staff were very friendly.
Even with all the aesthetic and situational complaints, I value the time the Dr. spent answering my questions and would likely refer him based on the information he provided me.
My complaints:
There was no blood pressure test prior to consultation
The non-working toilet
The med staff working on the toilet
The pliers from maintenance, probably used to work on the toilet, were set on med desk
The possible cleanliness of the exam table. The table looked clean but my concern was how the pullout from the exam table was used as a desk. I've noticed this happens at other doctors offices. The med staff will place their exam clipboard right onto the exam table. Maybe I'm just being overly cautious but it doesn't seem very sanitary for a shared clipboard to be laid on an exam table or to use the exam table as a desk.
Also, the waiting room was really tiny and the feeling of confidentiality was not there. I felt like the other patients learned my medical history as I completed the paperwork. Also, it was difficult to tune out the med staff while they were talking on the phone or to other patients checking out from there appointment.
The paperwork was redundant, but this seems to happen everywhere. I filled out my intake form online prior to the exam, so I thought, but then had to complete an entire intake application on paper again. It is very frustrating to have to relive a lifetime of medical history over and over again. I guess because there was a problem with the printer? Is the reason I had to fill out new forms by hand with responses I had provided online. I just felt irritated that I had to fill out more forms. My medical history as a middle aged woman was definitely different than younger 20 something's expecting a child. I guess I felt a little out of place and uncomfortable filling out papers with obvious typos in such a small waiting area.
I think the color and style of the doctor's shirt was unflattering and not inviting as a physician. It looked dirty and grungy. When I first saw him I thought he may have been maintenance or a mechanic after a hard day's work, rather than a gynecologist. As a matter of fact many maintenance / mechanic staff appear much more professional even after a hard days work. It just wasn't a first impression that I was ready to jump on the exam table for.
