A Pennsylvania native Dr. Swift has been trained by some of the nation's leading orthopedic surgeons recognized for their proficiency and research in arthroscopy and sports medicine at the Hughston Clinic in Columbus, GA.
Board Certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Orthopedic Surgeons, Dr. Swift received his undergraduate degree from Washington and Jefferson College, Washington, PA. He completed his Doctorate in Osteopathic Medicine at the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine. Following his degree he completed a general surgery internship at Dwight David Eisenhower Army Medical Center, Fort Gordon, GA, and an orthopedic residency at UMDNJ-SOM/Cooper University Medical Center, Stratford, New Jersey.
With an orthopedic career that includes 16 years of military service in the United States Army, Dr. Swift provided Orthopedic service in Afghanistan battling the war on terrorism. Most notably he received the Bronze Star Medal for his service while in Afghanistan and the Meritorious Service Medal for service while at Fort Campbell, KY. Through his military experience he received additional training in orthopedic trauma and shoulder problems from Vanderbilt University, as well during his career had the privilege of being the team physician for Michigan Tech University's DI hockey program in 2010-2011
