Did not see the Dr. I scheduled the appointment with and was not told of a change even after I arrived. I think I should have been told before confirming the appointment. Even so, I was very pleased with my experience and plan to continue to use this vision service. EVERYONE was very professional, exceptionally friendly, and extremely knowledgeable. Reasonably priced as well.

The founder of Eyes of San Antonio, Dr. Robert S. Thompson, was born and raised in Stamford, Texas. Dr. Thompson is a 1972 graduate of the University of Houston College of Optometry. While there, he earned membership in Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society and Beta Sigma Kappa Optometric Honor Society. He also served as Vice President of the University of Houston Baptist Student Union.
After graduating, he served in the United States Army as an optometry officer for four years at Fort Sam Houston. He liked the city of San Antonio so well that he established his private practice here in 1976. Dr. Thompson earned his Therapeutic License to treat most eye diseases in 1992, and his Glaucoma Therapeutics License in 2000. He enjoys all phases of optometry, but is especially interested in contact lenses and laser vision correction. He has worn contact lenses since age 17, and derives interest and enthusiasm for his profession from his enjoyment in wearing lenses. He is also currently a member of Nuvision, a local refractive surgery network of doctors.
Our office is now located on the westbound access road at Loop 410 and Blanco Road. Our focus is to acquire the newest technology in equipment for our clinic. Our personnel undergo extensive training and use cutting edge technology to improve the visual performance of our patients. Our office accepts most insurance plans. Dr.Thompon was an excellent provider, vary though and very plesent. He explained what was happening with my eyes and presribed some eye drops at my pharmancy to try and correct the problem. The optical shop was very helpful with picking out my new glasses and I also was able to pay out of pocket for a pair of sunglasses in my percription. Overall a very plesent experience.

Have been seeing Dr Thompson for many, many years. Love the fact that he has a new machine that requires NO eye dilation to complete his tests! Made driving home much easier. Staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and was ween right away. Would recommend this practice to anyone looking for a new eye doctor.
