About Dr. Karen Sandoval

Born and raised in San Antonio, Dr. Sandoval earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of Texas at San Antonio before completing her Doctor of Optometry degree at the Rosenberg School of Optometry. Her externship training included rotations at Lackland Air Force Base and Kozlovsky, Delay, and Winter Eye Consultants, where she gained extensive experience managing diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, and cataract post-operative care. She has a special interest in pediatric optometry and contact lenses, and she is passionate about helping patients of all ages achieve their best vision. Dedicated to community service, Dr. Sandoval participated in a medical mission trip to the Philippines in June 2025, where she provided essential eye care to underserved communities. Outside of the clinic, Dr. Sandoval enjoys spending time with her family and her two dogs. She also loves traveling and exploring new local restaurants.
