About Dr. Roger Villi
Dr. Roger Villi graduated from University Autonoma de Guadalajara in Mexico in 1984. After graduation, he did research in neonatal medicine. Dr. Villi participated in the 5th Pathway Program at New York Medical College, an internship in internal medicine in Flushing Hospital, and a residency program in family medicine at St. Joseph's Medical Center (SJMC) in Yonkers. Dr. Villi worked in the SJMC emergency room for several years in positions including Associate and Acting Director. He has certifications in trauma, and basic, advanced, and pediatric life support. He also has instructed in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS). He enjoys treating patients, being part of a team, and the challenges found in medicine today. In his spare time, Dr. Villi is a regular at the gym, rock climbs, and attends classes in martial arts and boxing. He is happily married and resides in Westchester.

I scheduled an appointment after being sick for over a week with persistent coughing, wheezing, sore throat, and upper body aches. During the visit, I did not feel my symptoms were taken seriously. I explained the duration and severity of my illness and provided a complete list of current and recent medications. I was told my lungs sounded clear and my symptoms were attributed to post-nasal drip, with no additional testing ordered.
I was prescribed only a nasal spray and given a doctor’s note to return to work the following day, despite ongoing pain and respiratory symptoms. When my condition did not improve, I went to the ER the next day. A chest X-ray and CT scan showed fluid in my lungs, and I was diagnosed with bronchitis that had progressed into pneumonia. I am concerned that my condition was dismissed and not fully evaluated, which may have delayed appropriate diagnosis and treatment.

Wasn’t too helpful in addressing certain concerns I had about my health. More so just wanted to get the appointment over with and move onto the next patient. He performed the check up and rushed. It might have been a busy day but I doubt since the waiting only had 2 other patients
