It is very hard to find docs that have the same kindness, and interest as we experienced 30 plus years ago. Having an appointment with Dr. Markos, was like stepping back in time, in the best way possible. He is very smart, and just as importantly, interested, easy to talk to, very kind, friendly and cheerful. I would say in my opinion he is the holy grail of doctors. I have a multitude of complicated medical problems and that is not good news, in the era of HMO's. Doctors are no longer afforded the luxury of time to treat their patients anymore. However you would never know it, as Dr Markos spent an extremely generous amount of time treating me. Just another aspect that makes him far above all of his peers. Quite frankly he made me feel like I made a new friend, and that is something that is just as important to someone who is ill, as the actual medical treatment itself. It is also something that is nearly impossible to find these days. So if I were asked to rate Dr Markos on a scale of 1 to 10, I would have to say 11. He said he would like to see me when I have a certain condition, and just to call when it occurs and they would fit me into the schedule. A specialist offering to fit their new patient into the schedule? Well I think my jaw may have hit the floor from shock. Needless to say I think he is fabulous, and will doubtless stay his patient as long as the is practicing medicine.

Very informative

Dr. Markos hardly spent time with me as a patient. I saw him on three separate occasions including an endoscopy. On each of the occasions, my appointments lasted a total of 5-7 minutes each. He didn't seem interested in wanting to know how I was feeling or getting to know me as a patient. I wish I went to the 2nd opinion doctor the first time around.
Short & pleasant
Professional and friendly. He listened.

Dr Markos is, by far, the kindest and most confident dr I have worked with. He performed a surgery for my sister and she was so pleased with his demeanor that she recommended him to me. I have been working with a previous GI for the last year with no success. Dr Markos is giving me hope for a diagnosis which is something I haven't had in almost a decade. He is kind, caring, respectful and very comforting. He explains things extremely well. I have nothing but wonderful things to say!
