Ronda is a nurse practitioner certified as both a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. She has practiced for 25 years combined in these specialties. Ronda brings a wealth of experience as a pediatric nurse and nurse practitioner in the medical field prior to her training in psychiatry.
She began her career as a pediatric nurse working in the neonatal intensive care unit at Baylor University Medical Center and then completed her training as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. As a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Ronda has worked in multiple different Children’s hospitals, including Children’s National Medical Center in Washington DC and most recently at Children’s Hospital Colorado in Denver, in the outpatient setting in the specialties of Developmental Pediatrics, Pediatric Neurology, and Pediatric Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
In these settings, she has gained experience working with children who have ADHD, Learning Disorders, Epilepsy, Autism, Headaches, Traumatic Brain Injuries, and Cerebral Palsy. Additionally, she spent several years working in Pediatric Primary Care. These experiences have informed Ronda’s holistic view of how mind, body, environment, and developmental influences impact a person’s health and wellness. Ronda incorporates an integrative approach to the management of mental health and wellness that includes working on lifestyle modifications including sleep, nutrition, and stress management as well use of traditional medical treatments.
Ronda recognizes that each child, adolescent, and family are unique and sees her role as a partner in providing professional knowledge and guidance to help each individual and family inform their treatment choices.
