More about Dr. Ross Palmer, MD

***Please be aware I can only see patients who reside in the San Diego County area.*** I opened my private practice clinic because I wanted to create a safe, comfortable space where my patients are always valued and respected, where your most private concerns can be expressed without judgment or stigma. I offer a calming and empathic environment, and respect for your time, values, and goals. I also offer excellent medical knowledge and clinical acumen. In my last year of psychiatry residency, I was ranked #1 of 58 residents by exam scores measuring expertise in clinical psychiatry. Although I practice evidence-based medical treatments for a wide variety of mental health problems, I believe the foundation of good mental health is adequate sleep, healthy diet, regular exercise, sobriety from alcohol and recreational drugs, and supportive social interactions. As a specialist in psychopharmacology, I prescribe medication to most of my patients, but all of my appointments have a focus on a proactive, holistic model of mental health.

This was my first appointment with the doctor. Main thing that I did not like was that he yawned multiple times within the first 15min of the session. I felt a genuine lack of interest in the overall meeting. We went through a series of questions, time to explain general concerns and we discussed questions regarding the prescription at the end. Overall the meeting was 30-40 minutes. This was a meeting I booked over 2 months in advance for several issues I’ve been dealing with for years. I left it feeling a lack of confidence in the whole process and will venture out for my next appointment
