Dr. Heron was very personable, he spent a long time going over the diet with me. He also gave me a detailed overview of the history of the diet and the company. It's evident he cares greatly about the people who come to him and the community at large. I appreciate that he spent a lot of time with me; I believe it may have made him late for his next appointments and also what delayed my appointment in the first place. In any case, I look forward to working with him throughout this process.

Dr. Roy Heron created a moderate carbohydrate diet plan in 1981, years ahead of the current trends in weight loss. His innovative approach to healthy eating was finally validated in 2005 when the US Department of Agriculture developed a new food guide pyramid similar to that of the Heron diet plan. For the past 34 years Dr. Heron has prescribed his moderate carbohydrate diet for weight loss and improved the health of thousands of patients in Northern Virginia and Southern Maryland.
In 2005, Dr. Heron trained and became one of the first Bariatric Specialists in the country to master the laser procedure for the removal of cellulite utilizing a non-invasive laser. Today, Dr. Heron is a certified member of the Society of Aesthetics in Medicine in laser liposuction training. He offers SmartLipo at Heron SmartLipo Center, one of today’s most advanced body-sculpting techniques.
