About Dr. Lauren McKelroy
Dr. Lauren Craig is skilled in medical and surgical dermatology. She enjoys treating a range of dermatologic conditions including acne, skin cancers, psoriasis, alopecia and inflammatory conditions.
She graduated with honors from the University of Virginia with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology. She then earned her MD from George Washington University in Washington, DC. After graduation, she completed a one year internship in Internal Medicine at Washington Hospital Center before heading down south for her dermatology residency at the University of Mississippi.
Dr. Craig published in multiple journals during her time in residency including the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology. She also presented at various national dermatology meetings, most notably, the American Academy of Dermatology annual meeting in 2016. Dr. Craig has a specific interest in medical education and teaching. She won the resident teaching award and gave both a podium talk and a poster presentation on improving resident education at the American Professors in Dermatology annual meeting in Chicago.
Dr. Craig is originally from Northern Virginia and excited to practice in her hometown. When she is not practicing dermatology, she enjoys yoga, running on the National Mall, listening to and performing music and exploring new D.C restaurants.
