Dr. Ruchi Karsalia was fantastic. I came in with multiple concerns after not having an annual for a few years, and she addressed everything clearly and efficiently. I appreciated her direct approach and felt really comfortable throughout the visit.
I plan to continue seeing her for my IUD replacement, cyst removal, and general annual care.

I was recommended to this doctor by a friend because she had been very kind and accommodating to their gender identity, but I did not have a similarly good experience with her. I felt she was very judgmental of my weight and made comments about my physical appearance. I think she’d be a good fit for any trans/nonbinary person looking for an understanding provider, but i do not recommend this doctor for any fat patients that want a shame-free doctors visit.

I was happy to be seen right away - I arrived on time, and did not have to wait at all. The office had called me the day before to confirm my address and insurance details (returning patient).
Dr. Karsalia was informative and engaged. She provided me with options and talked me through each process of the annual exam.
Based on my medical history, I required a follow-up which was also taken care of very smoothly.

Although I like the aesthetic of the practice, I find it to be very disorganized. I needed a biopsy and had to chase down my results myself. When I called to check if they had received them, they told me they hadn't. After following up with Lenox Hill Radiology, I was assured my results had been sent. I had to go back and forth multiple times before finally having Lenox Hill resend them. Even then, instead of handling the situation with urgency, they seemed to take their time releasing my results. This experience has been frustrating and unacceptable. I will not be returning and have already made arrangements to continue my care elsewhere.

I usually dread going to the OB-GYN, but my experience with Dr. Ruchi Karsalia and her team completely changed that! From the moment I walked in, the front desk staff was warm and welcoming, setting the tone for a positive visit. The nurse practitioner was absolutely lovely—so pleasant and attentive, making me feel truly cared for. Dr. Karsalia herself was phenomenal—kind, thorough, and genuinely reassuring. The entire clinic exudes professionalism and compassion, making what’s typically a stressful experience so much more enjoyable. I can’t recommend Dr. Karsalia, her team, and the clinic enough!

Dr.Karsalia was great! But beware about booking on zocdoc if you change your appointment time. I had originally made the appointment on zocdoc and then changed my appointment very quickly after. I was definitely within the cancellation timeframe. However, the receptionist informed me that I had a substantial no show fee charge for my original appointment time. When I asked if there could be an exception as I thought this may be due to a zocdoc error (I also did not know about this policy) , I did not receive an answer. I really don't want to pay a fine after my first time with Pure as I wasn’t educated on the policy through Zocdoc. This experience definitely left some mistrust in me about other potential hidden healthcare fees in the future and I hope that this can be resolved soon.

This was not a pleasant overall experience.
The first person I saw was a nurse practitioner - she was personable and took my medical history, before telling me to undress and put on paper gown and leaving the room.
I then waited for about 10 minutes in the room to see the doctor, feeling increasingly cold and exposed!
I did not enjoy meeting a doctor for the first doctor wearing only a paper bag!
When the doctor came in she briefly checked the medical history before examining me, but she asked only closed questions, did not ask any open questions or enquire about any concerns I had, made very little eye contact, and overall gave the impression of being in a hurry and just going through the motions. She did not seem to take genuine interest in me or in building any rapport.
The combined experience of feeling very exposed and like the doctor was not caring gave me an overall negative experience of the visit.

usually, when I go to the gynecologist in NYC, it’s just the Pap smear and then any additional services, they have to refer me elsewhere. At this office, I was able to get a Pap smear, a hormonal blood panel, and a transvaginal ultrasound all in one place. The doctor was very results oriented and took the symptoms I was describing seriously. The ultrasound tech was so sweet and very cognizant that she was performing an invasive procedure and checked in with me throughout. The needle stick the lab techs gave me barely hurt. I will be making this place my regular OB/GYN and recommend!

Dr. Karsalia was absolutely lovely. The visit didn't feel rushed at all (which has not been my past experience with other providers) and I really felt like she took the time to understand my needs and answer my questions. Also a huge bonus they did bloodwork in the office for me.

DO NOT GO TO THIS DOCTOR. I had a breast infection and I didn't know it. I went to her with all of the symptoms. She sent me away with a prescription to get a mammogram. I couldn't even make a mammogram appointment until two months later. I sent her a follow-up email that same day telling her I was in a lot of pain and I called the office as well. I never received a response. The pain got worse and I saw another doctor two days later who immediately got me antibiotics, gave me pain killers, made sure I had a mammogram and ultrasound scheduled that week, and made a follow-up appointment with me for two weeks later. That is what she should have done. I would NEVER recommend Dr. Karsalia, she didn't treat me, ignored me, and left me in pain.

My doctor was really amazing. She listened carefully to all of my concerns and addressed them each without judgement. She was very helpful in explaining the reasoning behind each form of testing and what I needed to do following a diagnosis. Overall it was one of the best experiences I have had with a gyno. As someone who experiences a lot of pain during exams they were very patient and supportive. The technician performing my ultrasound was so kind and helpful.
