Dr. Modi is a board certified physician in internal medicine, gastroenterology and hepatology. He has spoken at national conferences on techniques to improve colon cancer screening as well as on diverticular disease. His research focuses on a wide range of areas including quality improvement in endoscopy and nutrition in high performance athletes. He is a faculty member at the newly created Gehr Center for Implementation Science, where he focuses on ways to improve the quality of healthcare. He is also a researcher at the USC Center for Body Computing, where he explores the role of digital health and clinical informatics in chronic disease management.
Dr. Modi’s approach to care focuses on listening to the whole patient in order to protect and preserve health, while respecting the patient’s values. He strives to provide compassionate and comprehensive care that utilizes the latest scientific evidence and also respects the art of healing.
