Dr. Rees founded OB/GYN Specialists of Columbus in 1998 after completing her military service at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center and Martin Army Community Hospital. While her early career goals were to return to academic medicine and research, she found more satisfaction providing personalized healthcare to women in a community setting. Dr. Rees’ special areas of interest outside obstetrics include minimally invasive surgery, urogynecology, and pelvic reconstructive surgery for women with pelvic support disorders. Dr. Rees was awarded the Reader’s Choice Award for Favorite OB/GYN by the Ledger-Enquirer. She is Board Certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and is a Fellow of the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. Dr. Rees has served as the Chairman of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Doctors Specialty Hospital and Midtown Medical Center. She is also a member of the American Urogynecology Society, the Georgia OB/GYN Society, and the Muscogee County Medical Society.

Dr. Rees is a wonderful, talented physician. She is very compassionate & concerned with any issues you are having medically. She makes you feel very comfortable before, during, & after your exam. I wish every woman had an OB/GYN as knowledgeable, & caring as Dr. Ruthan Rees! The staff is outstanding as well!

I've been a patient of Dr. Rees for 17 years. She's delivered 5 of my babies, including twins. She is amazing! Very informative, great bedside manner- caring and supportive. Everything a woman needs in a doctor!
