Dr. Gorger was the best ophthalmologist I've seen in the past 10 years. He didn't just write me off as an old lady who had to adjust to aging eyesight issues. He identified my specific eye issues and offered corrective treatment.

Ryan Gorger is a dedicated and diligent optometrist serving the communities of Portland and Beaverton, OR. Dr. Gorger attended Pacific University, where he received his doctorate in optometry, and completed his residency in family practice optometry at Northeastern State University.
Dr. Gorger is a part of the Portland Clinic. His philosophy on patient care is to listen attentively to patients and to recommend the best treatment options for their individual needs and concerns.
Dr. Gorger is uncompromising in his dedication to the well-being of his patients. He is committed to giving the best care and establishing long-lasting relationships with them. Outside of work, he likes to stay active by going to the gym, taking walks or bike riding around the neighborhood, and hiking in the beautiful Pacific Northwest.

Dr. Gorger and his staff were very thorough, which I appreciated. They took what I felt was an appropriate amount of time to answer any questions or concerns I may have had. I have been wearing eyeglasses and contact lenses for many years, so have interacted with many different eyecare professionals. This was one of the most pleasant and professional experiences I have had.

Dr. Gorger was efficient and I received my updated prescription as I was seeking. He also answered my questions well. While I would give an A for proficiency, I would note that the staff and Doctor are just that: efficient and direct. It was not an overly warm exchange with neither the receptionist, doctor, AND the assistant. I found that odd. No one seemed happy to be there. Pretty flat interactions and no sign of personalities. With so many amazing eye-offices all over Portland I was surprised at that. I looked at the glasses after my appointment and no one offered to assist or asked if I needed help, which seems to be the opposite at most optometrists' offices also. Which hey, I'm not exactly fond of optometry sales pressure so I guess the dryness was a benefit in that area. I waited for 10-15 min. in the lobby before meeting with the assistant, not including filling out normal paperwork prior to, and was on time. There was also some wait time in the in-between seeing the assistant and doctor.
