About Dr. Carla Avruskin

Dr. Carla Avruskin received her Optometry degree from Pacific University in Forest Grove, Oregon in 1996. She completed a residency specializing in Contact Lenses at Pacific University and OHSU’s Casey Eye Institute, and has been practicing at Ogata EyeCare, P.C. since 1997. A self-described perfectionist, Dr. Avruskin is known for her diligence and patience, especially in challenging contact lens cases. Dr. Avruskin grew up in New York, and misses living near the south shore Long Island beaches. She enjoys exploring the Pacific Northwest with her family, summertime camping, and photography. Dr. Avruskin resides in Washington County with her husband and two sons.

We had a short notice eye concern. My husband woke up and basically couldn’t open his left eye. It was painful and watering non stop and he had suspicion that maybe he scratched it somehow, or that there could be a foreign object in his eye. We made an appointment for the same day with hopes to have some clarity about what was going on. So glad we made this appointment for peace of mind. The office staff was incredibly nice, we had only a short wait and then got to meet with Carla, the optometrist. She was so kind. She listened. She asked questions. We felt well taken care of. The location makes you wonder if the office would be nice or not (the Lloyd center is a pretty sad mall) but the office was very clean and had such a nice staff.
