I took my active 12 yr old son to see Dr. Shock for chronic heel pain. Dr Shock provided two avenues for treatment and even addressed potential financial burdens due to insurance limitations/coverage. I appreciated that awareness, which was a compliment to his educational presentation of the problem and prognosis based on his extensive experience in treating athletes.

My husband just saw Dr. Shock and I am so thrilled! My husband was told by another Doctor "Oh this is genetic, you'll just have to deal with the pain." Needless to say we were less than impressed with that diagnosis. However, Dr. Shock was the exact opposite. He took the time to explain my husband's diagnosis, discuss options, and he even took time to look through our insurance and let us know our options along with pricing. We were happy to do whatever we needed to get my husband better, but I am glad that he was considerate enough to take a financial situation into account. Overall I would highly recommend Dr. Shock to anyone in need of a foot checkup.

Dr. Ryan Shock obtained his bachelor dual degree in biology and chemistry at the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana. Immediately following his undergraduate training, he attended podiatric medical school at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science in Chicago, IL.
Dr. Shock completed a comprehensive three year foot and ankle surgical residency in Seattle at one of the nation's top programs. During his residency he received training from some of the leading foot and ankle specialists both in the orthopedic and podiatric community. He was able to take part in fellowship training in reconstruction of the foot and ankle at the Sigvard T. Hansen Foot and Ankle Institute at Harborview Medical Center. Additionally, he received microsurgery training in San Francisco at the M.O.E.T. Institute, external fixation of the foot and ankle at the Russian Ilizarov Scientific Center for "Restorative Traumatology and Orthopaedics" in Kurgan, Russia, arthroscopy of the foot and ankle at the Orthopeadic Learning Center in Chicago, and traumatology of the foot and ankle in San Francisco. In addition to his surgical training he focused on sports medicine of the foot and ankle with some of the nation's respected foot and ankle sports medicine physicians.
During his comprehensive training in all aspects of the foot and ankle he has developed a passion for the functional restoration of the foot and ankle. He is currently board qualified by the American Board of Podiatric Surgeons in both Foot surgery and in Reconstructive Rearfoot and Ankle surgery. "I understand how important it is to lead an active lifestyle and I am dedicated to helping my patients return to their highest functional level."

Dr. Ryan Shock gave me a good experience. Went in because of an old sports injury. He was very knowledgeable and gentle with checking to find the bad area. It was a pleasure to listen to him explain the details so I could understand. Being that he is down to earth with a good sense of humor. I will definitely recommend him to anyone that needs their feet looked over and evaluated.

Dr. Shock had already read my note I submitted online when I made the appointment, and was ready to discuss the issue when I showed up. He clearly communicated the options for treatment with me, and explained his recommendation. I've seen him a couple of times now, and greatly appreciate his preparation and his treatment of my injury (which is now all better)!

Gave me specific instruction on things to do at home, and left me some awesome shoe inserts that I wore the rest of the day without any pain at all. Yay!
