Samantha McCarey, MSN, APRN, FNP-C is a certified nurse practitioner born and raised here in Brazoria County. She is an alumni of Brazoswood High School, and quickly found her love for medicine after graduation. She started her career as a nurse in 2010 and has worked in many areas; including labor and delivery, geriatrics, and hospice. She has over a decade of experience in the medical field, and graduated with her Master’s in Science in Nursing in 2017 from University of Texas Arlington. She is board certified from the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. She started her career as a Nurse Practitioner in Gastroenterology and Family Practice and now focuses solely on family practice, caring for patients of all ages. She has been involved in Brazoria County as both a volunteer for the fire department auxiliary and a member of Brazosport Area Nurse Practitioners. She is also a member of Texas Nurse Practitioners and AANP. During her free time Samantha likes to spend time with her husband and children, as well as extended family. She spends much of her time involved in sports and booster club, and enjoys focusing on physical fitness in order to maintain good health. In the past she has participated in local 5k running events and cross-fit, and hopes to continue this in the future. On weekends she plays in a co-ed recreational softball league with her husband Jason. She strongly believes in making the decisions in her daily life that she encourages her patients to maintain. She likes to encourage her patients to not only maintain physical health, but mental health as well, especially given the recent pandemic. Some of her biggest focuses in office include obesity management, diabetes, and cardiovascular issues; but she is a well rounded practitioner in many areas of study.
