Dr. Samir Agarwal is a caring and diligent colorectal surgeon serving the community of Washington, DC. Dr. Agarwal attended West Virginia University, where he earned his medical degree. He completed his residency at the same institution. He completed his undergraduate studies at Boston College and graduated with high honors. After residency he pursued fellowship training in trauma surgery and surgical critical care at the University of California, San Diego. He continued his training by finishing another fellowship in colon and rectal surgery at Washington University, St. Louis.
Dr. Agarwal is a part of GWMFA Surgery Colon & Rectal and is a member of the American College of Surgeons. He is certified by the American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery. He is also board certified in surgery and surgical critical care by the American Board of Surgery.
Dr. Agarwal is interested in all aspects of colon and rectal surgery with particular interest in trans anal excision of tumors. He is versed in laparoscopic surgery, robotic surgery, traditional open surgery, trans anal endoscopic microsurgery (TEM), anorectal surgery, and colonoscopy.
