Sandra Naaman, MD, PhD, is a board certified internist who also completed a doctoral degree in clinical health psychology. Dr. Naaman's clinical areas of interest include cancer survivorship, women’s health, chronic disease management and medically complex patients. She has extensive clinical and research experience in breast cancer survivorship, particularly in the context of comorbid chronic disease and psychiatric disease. Her research has been published in several peer-reviewed journals. Dr. Naaman’s academic interests include development and evaluation of cancer survivorship programs. She also enjoys mentoring medical students and residents.

I found this doctor to be unsympathetic and judgmental. Although I started off by telling her I had a rare chronic illness, she snapped that she had never heard of it before and fired question after question at me, as if she didn’t believe me. She did not put me at ease about the medication a specialist had prescribed and, worse, tried to prescribe something else, even after admitting she’d never heard of this illness before. Her bedside manner made me feel fearful, not empowered in managing my health. Office staff was lovely, especially the nurse, but this doctor is not what I need.

She was super personable and explained everything without even me asking. She even eased my mind about an issue I’ve been having for years in just a few minutes when most docs haven’t been able to. Definitely excited to have her as a primary care doctor. My only complaint is that I got taken to my room on time by a very nice front desk person and a great nurse, but I waited 30 minutes for the doctor to come back to the room.
