Dr. Seema Tiku joined Riverside Pediatric Group in 2005. She cares for patients in our Hoboken-North office. Dr. Tiku obtained her undergraduate degree from Brandeis University in Waltham, MA and went to medical school at Nova Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. She completed her residency in Pediatrics at University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ) in Newark, NJ in 2002. Dr. Tiku is Board Certified in Pediatrics and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Prior to joining Riverside, Dr. Tiku worked as a Pediatric Hospitalist at J.F.K. Medical Center in Edison, NJ and a Pediatric Emergency Room Attending Physician at Centrastate Medical Center in Freehold, NJ, where she became proficient in dealing with urgent care pediatric cases. Dr. Tiku has taken a special interest in caring for newborn babies - especially premature babies and twins. She provides mothers with breast feeding support and advice on newborn schedules and sleep training. She also provides personalized care for her patients who require developmental support. Dr. Tiku’s philosophy centers on providing her patients with a “more holistic and nonmedicinal approach to illness before turning to prescription and antibiotic treatment”. As a testament to the high quality care she provides to her patients, Dr. Tiku was recognized as “Riverside Doctor of the Year” in 2008.
Dr. Tiku’s hobbies include running, traveling the world, cooking and, of course, supporting the Red Sox (as she is originally from Boston, MA). In addition, Dr. Tiku is a passionate and dedicated member of Unified For Global Healing (UFGH), a non-profit organization that organizes medical missions across the globe to provide culturally competent medical care and promote the advancement of health education for
