Selena E. Briggs (formerly Heman-Ackah) is a diligent and reputable ear, nose, and throat doctor caring for the District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia (DMV) community. Dr. Briggs attended the University of Cincinnati, where she earned her degree in medicine and business. She completed both her internship and residency in otolaryngology - head and neck surgery at the University of Minnesota where she also completed a PhD. She completed a fellowship in neurotology at New York University.
Dr. Briggs is a part of MedStar Washington Hospital Center, Department of Otolaryngology in Washington, DC. Dr. Briggs is board certified in Otolaryngology and subspecialty board certified in Neurotology. Her expertise includes evaluation of ear and skull base disorders including ear infections, hearing loss, cholesteatoma, otosclerosis, vestibular disorders, acoustic neuroma, meningioma, and encephalocele. She has special training in cochlear implantation and advanced otologic surgery. Her research interests include age related hearing loss and preventive therapies. She is an Associate Professor of Otolaryngology at Georgetown University.

I saw Dr. Selena Briggs. She was the first doctor who was willing to come up with some ideas besides just stress reduction. Stellar staff. No wait time. There was a several months wait to get in as a new patient, but after just shoulder shrugs from other doctors in this field, it was worth the wait.

Things are very different now with COVID and I opted for a phone call instead of a video call which maybe I shouldn't have. It seems odd they can diagnose you without more than a five-minute phone call but hopefully, it works.

I understand being upset when a patient is late because it’s time. When it’s obvious to the patient and the personnel attitude shows it through voice and tone while speaking directly to the patient is an issue. Otherwise visit was okay with the physician.
