I've been seeing Dr. Chehrazi for about 6 months now, and I can highly recommend her. She has a great way of making you feel comfortable and at ease, even when discussing difficult topics. It is clear that she is genuinely interested in the well-being of her patients. Every visit is pleasant and I always leave in good spirits.

Shahla Chehrazi, MD has been in private practice in adult, adolescent and child psychiatry for 35 years. Dr. Chehrazi trained in medicine at Tehran University Medical School and completed residency both in adult and child psychiatry at the Menninger School of Psychiatry. She received her psychoanalytic training at the San Francisco Center for Psychoanalysis where she has been on the faculty since 1979. Dr. Chehrazi is board certified in psychiatry and a member of the American Psychoanalytic Association.
Dr. Chehrazi’s warm, flexible and empathic approach is relationship-based. She views treatment as a collaborative process where patients build emotional understanding to enhance the quality of their life and relationships. She encourages her patient to explore the motivation underlying their behaviors to gain a more in depth understanding of their mind and internal processes. With her adult and adolescent patients, she sees the role of the psychiatrist/therapist as developing a secure and safe space that promotes development of a trusting relationship. With her child patients, she meets the children where they are: on the floor in play. She sees play therapy as a powerful therapeutic approach that helps the children to get back on their individual developmental track which promotes emotional and intellectual well being. Additionally, she offers consultations for medication management. She views the combination of psychotherapy and medication management as a effective approach for many patients.

Dr. Chehrazi is an excellent therapist. I would recommend her highly. She has helped me with developing my confidence, sense of self and positive well - being, recovering from depression and anxiety.
