More about Dr. Shala Fardin, MD
Dr. Shala Rahbar Fardin is a board-certified dermatologist originally from West Virginia. She graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Yale and received her medical degree from Harvard Medical School. She continued her residency training at Harvard and was selected as a Chief Resident in her final year. During residency, she enjoyed tackling challenging medical dermatological cases with a focus on practicing data-driven (evidence-based) medicine. Additionally, her love for laser and cosmetic procedures motivated her to spend extra elective time training in laser and cosmetics with leaders in the field at Mass. General Hospital.
After eight blustery Boston winters, Dr. Fardin and her husband, a California native, were delighted to move to San Francisco in 2007. While in the Bay Area, Dr. Fardin practiced in Marin and San Francisco with several well-recognized dermatology colleagues before taking time off to be with her twin daughters. Dr. Fardin is thrilled to realize her longtime dream of starting her own practice in the creation of Southern Marin Dermatology alongside Dr. Ashley Smith. Dr. Fardin has an extensive background in both medical and cosmetic dermatology including the diagnosis and management of dermatologic diseases of the skin, cosmetic laser procedures, as well as treating and caring for children with more complex skin disorders. Dr. Fardin views Southern Marin Dermatology as an opportunity to combine her passion for patient care with modern technology to refresh and redesign the patient experience.

I am thrilled to have found such a thoughtful and thorough female dermatologist here in Sausalito. Dr. Fardin is a breath of fresh air. So many doctors are rushed and distracted during the visit. During my visit Dr. Fardin took the time to fully understand my questions regarding my adult acne. I have seen many doctors and she came up with a new approach that I had never heard of. For the first time in as long as I can remember my skin is acne free, my pores are smaller and my skin feels healthy and glowing. Yes, this is a radiant endorsement for Southern Marin Dermatology. I love that they are equally skilled in medical and cosmetic dermatology because you can't really have one with out the other if you want the best results possible. Their gorgeous space is serene and uplifting. The staff is attentive and make me feel well taken are of. The view of the water is the icing on the cake!
