Dr. Rovenstine had received all the medical information from the surgeons who had done procedures on my eyes, and took the time to explain everything in full detail as it related to my vision so I could understand it easily. Her technicians discussed all of my options in lens materials and frame size / shape, and made recommendations about what would be best for my needs. They also explained all the measurements taken for proper mounting of the lenses in the frames I chose.

Dr. Rovenstine earned her Doctor of Optometry Degree Cum Laude from Illinois College of Optometry, where she was recipient of the Illinois Optometric Education Scholarship and member of Beta Sigma Kappa Honor Society.
Dr. Rovenstine completed externships in pediatrics and contact lens at Illinois Eye Institute in Chicago, advanced care at Gottlieb Eye Center in Melrose Park, contact lens at VisionCare Specialists in Des Plaines and primary care at Great Lakes Naval Base.
In addition to comprehensive eye exams and contact lens fits, Dr. Rovenstine diagnoses and treats conditions such as dry eye syndrome, allergies, infections, injuries, glaucoma, and binocular vision disorders. She also monitors diabetic retinopathy, hypertensive retinopathy, macular degeneration and cataracts. She is a member of the Illinois Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association.

This was my first time at this office, and I was very happy with my experience. The doctor was very professional and thorough. My previous eye doc (out of state) was great and spent a ton of time going over everything with me. Dr. Rovenstein pointed out all the same things he had and in a more simple, easy to understand manner. The rest of the staff was also very friendly and helpful.

I really like Sharon Rovenstine, OD!! She is extremely personable and professional. I have seen her for about the last 3 years for my annual eye exams. She has always been extremely thorough and spends time explaining what she is doing and why she is doing it. I always feel very well cared for by her and her staff.
