Dr. Sherah LaBuff is originally from the small town of Greenfield, Iowa
where she grew up until her teenage years before moving to the small town of Holbrook, Arizona with her family. After graduating from Holbrook High School, she completed her Bachelor’s degree in Physiology at the University of Arizona and went on to receive her Doctor of Optometry degree from Midwestern University’s Arizona College of Optometry. She completed her internship training in various parts of the country including Kansas City, Missouri, Nome, Alaska, and Surprise, AZ at the Barnet Dulaney Perkins Eye Centers here in the valley. She focused on medical optometry in her internship training as wells as providing comprehensive eye care for all ages.
Dr. LaBuff enjoys spending time with family and her 20-pound Maine Coon cat, Obi, when she isn't with patients. She loves music and sang with the Symphonic Choir – the top undergraduate choir at U of A – during her entire four years in Tucson. While she doesn't sing with a choir
currently, she will still sit down to play the piano and sing on her own. Dr. LaBuff also enjoys running in her free time and has completed 3 half-marathons over the past few years. She is currently training for her first full marathon set to happen in 2020.
“I was introduced to the world of optometry at a very young age after failing the very first vision screening exam in kindergarten! Getting that first pair of glasses made such a big difference in my life and I was so grateful that contact lenses were an option as I got older! I was always very science and math oriented in school and knew I wanted to be somewhere in the healthcare field where I could apply that knowledge. I got a part-time job at an optical store during college as a lab technician/eye-wear consultant and I fell even more in love with the field.
