The in-office visit was okay. The checkin attendant, Brittany was excellent and professional and the doctor's assistance Lenia (?) was wonderful. Dr. Sistrunk does not exhibit good bedside manners. She could use some coaching in this area.

She was very direct, but I also felt as though she was judgemental and far too brisk toward me. I didn’t appreciate the way she spoke to me and do think her bedside manner was far from pleasant. I felt more comfortable with the nurse staff.

I’ve been seeing Dr. Sistrunk for 21 years! She is amazing, found my Thyroid cancer, came in extra early when I was first seeing her after I was in the ER so she could see me. And that was when I first met her. Always works extra hard to figure out what’s going on-super smart and knowledgeable. Listens to your concerns. I literally cried when she moved away from the area, when another doctor told me she moved back I screamed with joy. I travel over an hour just to see her.

I reviewed my first visit to the office as unsatisfactory (because it was) but I had to go back today to follow up on tests and it was much better. Maybe I caught the office on an off day the first time around. The annual physical she gave me was thorough, she asked good questions and I'm satisfied that I'm as healthy as I feel.

My first appointment at her office was last week and I agree with other reviewers--the intake and reception process is garbage. I'd already filled out my forms here on Zocdoc but somehow, a staff member failed to input them into the system, so I stood and stood and stood at the window while the receptionist did it manually. That made me late for my appointment and the doctor acted like it was my fault. Nursing assistants then called me back to the examination area from the waiting room three separate times for height and weight, and urine and blood samples. I get really annoyed when businesses aren't organized (or friendly, which they ain't either). If I can keep my own personal life stuff together, I would think a fully staffed office would be able to come up with an efficient, well-run system.

There was scheduling problem, resulting in a 40 minutes conflict in the actual time of my scheduled appointment and what the doctor's nurse or assistant had. The nurse said that my appointment was scheduled for 9AM, when in fact it was 9:40 AM. I arrived within the time grace period.
I was told by the nurse that I had to reschedule or have a two hour wait before being seen by the doctor. With assistance from the Practice Manger, I was seen by the doctor. My overall visit with the doctor was satisfactory.

I like Dr. Sistrunk very much and I think she does a thorough physical but I think the reception staff is consistently very unwelcoming and unfriendly. I don't believe I'll be going back to this practice just because of how rude the reception staff is. I mean--how can you be looking angry at the world already at the first appointment of the day?

I have seen this provider once before and I am not impressed, her office is convenient for me and she performs the task of a physical BUT they have serious scheduling issues. Each time I have requested a physical I have been turned away because the system only set aside an appointment for treatment considered to be 20 minutes of my time. This has happened through ZocDoc And regular scheduling. They always offer to take blood or something simple- so it feels like they are taking money and then I have to return for the real appointment for them to take more money. It’s a mess there and the office doesn’t look clean or feel nice. With all of the negatives about the office and my indifference about the medical care received, I wouldn’t recommend this practice.

I had an annual physical with Dr. Sistrunk. She was very thorough, kind, and took her time with me. She provided me with recommendations for the future and made me feel like she cared! Also, her receptionist was very kind and called a few days before the appointment to go over the ZocDoc papers and give me directions. I would recommend Dr. Sistrunk and her staff!

There was a slight delay in the waiting room to check in, and perhaps it would have helped to have the check-in person acknowledge my arrival....or at a minimum have a sign-in sheet.

The nurse practitioners at this location are actually pretty great, but my experience with Dr. Sistrunk was completely unsatisfactory. As others have noted, she's very direct, but to the point where she lacks any bedside manner.
I answered the questions she asked honestly during my visit, and more than once I felt that I was being judged because of her mannerisms. Additionally, more than once she refused to refill my prescription birth control that I have literally been on for about 6 years, unless I scheduled an appointment.

The doctor yelled (seriously) at me repeated to speak louder, snapped at me when I struggled to define the symptoms of my months-long sinus infection (oh the holidays), refused to believe me when I described my medical allergies and history taking antibiotics, and didn't tell me her diagnosis or explain the treatment. Instead she sent someone else in to give me my prescription and I was sent on my way.
I will not be seeing Dr. Sistrunk again. I do not recommend her.
