My daughters appointment with them has always been pleasant. Their Medical Assistants are very helpful and friendly. They toys for the kids as they wait. My daughter has always been fascinated by the toys they have and never bored waiting.

Dr. Stein has been a practicing physician specializing in Pediatrics for many years. She was born and raised in Russia, and graduated from the Moscow Medical Institute in 1974. She did her internship, residency and fellowship as well as PHD and post doctorate program at the Institute of Pediatrics of Moscow.
Her family moved from Russia to the USA in 1991, where she continued her medical training at the Methodist Hospital and Cornell University Medial Center. Dr Stein also served as a clinical instructor at the department of pediatrics at the Stanford University Medical Center.
She has worked on the International Rheumatology Study Group projects regarding treatment in juvenile rheumatoid arthritis, and has also authored articles in several research publications. Dr Stein has been featured in San Jose Magazine Top Doctors issue, and she has received high scores by insurance reviews.

I am very impressed by the way the staff and dr. Tended to my son's needs and overall very professional. Super kid friendly waiting rooms. As a 'New Patient" I felt very comfortable with dr. Stien. By our 2nd visit to her office, I made the switch from our,now prior pediatrician to Dr. Sima Stien.

It was our first visit to the pediatrician after we have moved to the US. Instead of feeling welcomed I felt being routinely served with little personal attention. It unexpectedly became a very stressful experience for my daughter and the doctor seemed more interested in resolving her payroll issues then establishing a trusting relation with her. Perhaps it is normal in the US so I am not sure about this yet. We have another visit on Saturday and hope it will be better.

Loved Dr. Sima and she did great with my 2 1/2 son as well as was very knowledgable, answering all of my questions thoroughly. Only issue was that I had to wait 45 minutes to be taken to patient room. Once in patient room, I was see right away

I love Dr. Stein but this time when i arrived the office had no recollection of our appointment and luckily were able to see Kendra anyway. Dr. Stein works out of the MV and SJ office and they had no appt. at either office on their books even though I received confirmation.
That makes me a bit weary about how reliable the service is?

This doctor is not treating the patients well.
Everyone in her office, including the desk admin lady, has a kind of 'I don't care' air around them. Both my husband and I feel that she just wanted to scare the patients and order unnecessary tests so that people can be asked to come back for more appointments, for more $$ in her pocket from the insurance company. This is awful especially for us, with a 5 days old baby. She even gave us a lab order sheet with most of the information not filled out, and the patient's name and the content of the test ordered not being readable! (The lab person has to call her to confirm what she ordered exactly, and she's not even reachable by phone; not for patients to make appointment, let alone when the kids need help. She only take voice messages.)
Extremely bad experience, and as a mother I feel sorry that I have chosen such a doctor for my newborn. Will never go back and see this doctor again.

Total lack of compassion by nurse and doctor stein. My son was scared and they rushed him along with very little empathy. The doctor told my four year old, "I do not have time for this. I have other patients I need to see. Do you want to go to preschool? Well you have to do this to go to preschool." The nurse kept calling him "baby" and she was totally lacked compassion. She even pushed my hands away when my son was holding my hands while he was getting weighed. I was trying to remove my hands and instead of politely asking me to remove them from my scared son's body she pushed my hands and said, "no mommy you can't hold him", in a completely condescending tone. I highly recommend you do not take your child to this office. The only person who showed any sort of respect and kindness was the lady at the front desk. The doctor also told me my son needed to work on "self confidence" right in front of him.

Dr Sima Stein is professional and to-the-point. She does not waste time selling or providing unnecessary advice. She is direct with her questions, observations and comments.
She is also kind and gentle with kids without being 'over-friendly' and 'artificial'.
