Sofia Encarnacion, M.D., treats adults of all ages. She has devoted her life to the identification, treatment, and alleviation of patient discomfort. She does this through a carefully crafted mixture of caring, listening, and application of the most advanced therapeutic techniques and medications. She is fluent in both English and Spanish.
In her many years of patient treatment, first as a clinical psychologist then as a psychiatrist, Dr. Encarnacion has developed particular expertise in the treatment of ADHD, female sexual medicine, and life coaching. Her upbringing in the Caribbean and South America have uniquely qualified her to successfully treat patients from diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds.
Dr. Encarnacion earned her medical doctorate from the University of Buenos Aires. She trained and practiced at Cedars Sinai Hospital, a world-renowned psychiatric and medical facility in Los Angeles, and remains an attending psychiatrist there. She maintained a successful private practice in Beverly Hills, where she also served as the director of psychiatric services at El Dorado Community Services, a community based psychiatric facility.

While my actual 5 minute appointment went okay, the doctor's office she works for which I think is LifeStance is an absolute nightmare.
I was given forms to submit for an ADHD assessment but they had been dated incorrectly so that I was actually unable to submit them. I messaged LifeStance and asked them to re-open the form and got this verbatim response "Good morning, Unfortunately we are unable to update the date on your behalf. The document itself is not mandatory and will not affect your account. Thank you." Which is them telling me that MY ADHD ASSESSMENT FORM ISN'T MANDATORY?! It's literally the one form I need to submit to continue on. Since then I've been unable to reach them and somehow still owe even though my insurance is allegedly accepted.

The appointment lasted less than 20 minutes and she near immediately recommended drugs. There was no effort to put together a comprehensive, coordinated treatment plan. Just pushing pills.

Meeting with Doctor Encarnacion was the worst experience I have ever made with any doctor. I would NOT trust the reviews on this site and refer to her Google reviews, which accurately represent my experience as well. She was impatient, rude, unempathetic, short and tried to end the appointment when I questioned her judgment of my condition. She never educated me on the proper use or side effects of the medication she prescribed and never followed up. I would never recommend her, ever.
