Dr. Maguluri is simply the best! She takes the time to pay attention to what you are telling her, she is sincere, kind, personable and extremely knowledgeable. She is the type of person I would recommend to my closest friends and family! She doesn't treat you like a product, she treats you like a human with a problem who wants to trust this doctor. She is compassionate and will offer various solutions, not just the ones that personally benefit her, but rather the ones that demonstrate care from various angles towards her patients. It is really difficult to find an eye doctor that you can trust, but she is definitely the one!

I’m not someone who often leaves reviews, but this place was WONDERFUL! I was seen quickly, I never felt rushed, Doctor Maguluri patiently and respectfully answered all of my questions. She even went so far as to give me her personal cell phone number in case my condition got worse over the holiday weekend! If recommend her to anyone.

Sri Maguluri is a thorough, attentive ophthalmologist, who treats her patients with compassion, placing their health and comfort as her highest priority in treatment. Dr. Maguluri currently provides care for diabetic eye disease, hypertensive eye disease, macular degeneration, retinal disorders, macular puckers, macular holes, torn retinas, flashes and floaters, and uveitis at her office in Chicago. Dr. Maguluri is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is affiliated with the Thorek Memorial Hospital. Bilingual in Spanish and English, Dr. Maguluri is resourceful, and she aims to treat her patients with the care she expects. She is a member of the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology, the American Academy of Ophthalmology, and the Pan-American Association of Ophthalmology. She received her education from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey before completing her ophthalmology residency at Louisiana State University. I went here purposefully to obtain an expert diagnosis on my vision and retina status as a diabetic...
Pearle has been tracking and taking digital pictures for the last 5 years and recommended me to have an ophthalmologist follow up. I went to one a couple years ago, an she was thorough, wanted the Pearle files, did a lot of testing, gave me an in-depth diagnostic, sent the findings to me PCP, prescribed some drops... and advised me on dropping my A1C.
This one, barely spent 15min with me, basically had a general conversation... after I waited 15min, while being late thanks to the receptionist/assistant not mentioning that the entrance to the building was closed... and that entry had to be thru another adjoining hospital around the block... and having her do 3/4 of the intake exam. Not even a prescription was given.
Moreover, the fee was 2x what Pearle charges, for not even 20% of the diagnostics done... and I asked for the scan/pictures emailed to me before I left on Friday... promised to be sent Mon (theyre closed on Mondays), then called back Tues, and Wed (promised to be sent that night by Dr M herself)... its Thur AM, nothing. I want to explore my options on getting a refund. What a JOKE.

I'm a type 1 diabetic and have probably seen 15+ doctors over my lifetime. Dr. Maguluri is by far the best. She takes her time to talk with you and get a holistic history of what's happening with you. She answers all questions patently and compassionately (even non-eye related items). Sri Manguluri, MD, was AMAZING!!! She truly cares about you, as a patient. She is genuinely interested in your life. She made me feel so comfortable and at home, giving me thoughtful compliments, along the way. This particular appointment was a second opinion for an eye problem that has been ongoing for a few months, very uncomfortable, and the doctor found that my "watery, raw, swollen, red" eyes were a result of allergies not pink eye or any infection of any kind (previous blood work ruled out autoimmune disease). Dr. Manguluri, referred me to an allergy specialist (covered by my insurance) and also gave me a sample eye drop to use in the meantime (which has provided IMMEDIATE relief!) Thank god!

The wait for long (over an hour) due to an emergency that Dr. Maguluri had -- but she was definitely worth the wait. Dr. Maguluri was very thoughtful, kind, sincere, very knowledgeable, did a fantastic job explaining everything. Immediately we could tell that she has a good heart and after speaking and interacting with her, we were extremely grateful that we have found her. We went to 2 eye docs before finding her. Others were only concerned with the business aspect (one doc in Evanston only cared about getting you in and out as quickly as he could and another doc downtown wouldn't do anything with my eye condition until he would do a vision exam ) not taking care of their patients - but Dr. Maguluri is a caring individual who is genuinely interested in treating people's conditions, helping them understand what is happening with their ocular health, and providing the best care! We highly recommend her!

I made my appointment the night before my visit at the urging of another specialist concerned about some vision problems and headaches I was having. Getting to the office was a little confusing as the doors to 840 W. Irving were locked so I had to walk back toward the parking lot and through the hospital. I did have to wait a little over 30 minutes but Dr. Maguluri was so wonderful that I let the wait time go. (I'm also used to having to wait over an hour for other specialists.) She was so thorough and knowledgeable and spent as much time as I needed answering questions and explaining everything she was doing. The receptionist was very nice as well and scheduling was super easy. Highly recommended.

I never write reviews, but Sri Maguluri was WONDERFUL (as was everyone else on her staff from the receptionist to the nurse who did my general check-up to the man who photographed my eyes.) I have a follow-up appointment with her in a couple of weeks where we're going to dig a bit more into my condition and she promised to walk through my recent medical issues with me one by one. I had a lot of difficulty finding a doctor that had great reviews so I went with Sri Maguluri and I'm SO happy I did. Highly recommended - I feel confident that I'll find the answers I've been looking for.
