Dr. Seikel is a nationally recognized addictionologist. Throughout her career, she has been actively involved in state, regional, and national forums for opioid treatment. In addition, she has held various leadership roles within the Florida Society of Addiction Medicine (FSAM) and American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM). She is a diplomate of the American Board of Addiction Medicine and the American Board of Anesthesiology. She is certified as a Medical Review Officer. In 2011, she was awarded the Nyswander-Dole Award by the American Association for the Treatment of Opioid Dependence in recognition of her contributions to the field. In addition to her tremendous expertise, Dr. Seikel brings deep-seated dedication to her practice at The Recovery Village. "Addiction is a brain disease, not a moral failing. Profound neurobiological changes occur when addiction is activated. With structure, support and compassion, patients can fully recover. Patients should be treated with dignity and respect in an environment that protects their privacy."
