Dr. Steve Brogdon is a board-certified psychiatrist who has been practicing psychiatry since 2007. He completed residency at the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center and then worked in a number of community psychiatry settings. This offered an excellent opportunity to hone his craft and become an expert in psychopharmacology. After several years in a successful private practice, he joined one of the oldest interventional psychiatric practices on the West Coast. There he participated in research and treatment with rapid acting medications, transcranial magnetic stimulation, psychedelics, deep brain stimulation, and vagal nerve stimulation.
He continues to treat a variety of conditions as well as offer consultations with other psychiatrists on difficult cases. He uses a variety of therapeutic techniques, but is mostly interested in collaborating with patients, helping them understand what medications and supplements can and can’t do, so that they can make an informed decision on which treatment to pursue. This is done with therapy aimed at figuring out the unique cause of mental illness, and what changes patients can make to live their best lives.
