I've had diverse training and experience in various areas of medical practice, leading to my present focus on evaluation and treatment of pain. Many types of frustrating painful conditions involve neurologic issues such as neck and back pain, arm and leg pain, and headaches.
I have had extensive training with Board Certification in Internal Medicine and Neurology. After a few years of practicing General Neurology, I focused my attention and training on Pain Management- obtaining a couple more Board Certifications in Pain Management. I have also trained in Acupuncture (though I do not perform this treatment).
I Evaluate & Treat Pain & Injury involving the Nervous System, including performing:
- EMG and Nerve conduction studies
- fluoroscopic spine procedures such as epidural injections and radiofrequency ablation
-various types of pain injections including cortisone type and other approaches that can facilitate regeneration and healing for treatment of
Pain involving the head, neck, shoulder, elbow, hand, chest, low back, SI joints, knees and feet
-also evaluation and treatment of headache including Migraine and Concussion
-I pride myself in focusing on listening to what patients have to say
-explaining what I believe is causing the pain-- in Real English- using props such as skeleton models
-aiming to make people suffering with pain
smile, laugh and feel motivated to participate in their care
** I may share my personal experience (my low back MRI is worse than many of my patients)
** I have had severe low back pain
** I lost 30 pounds and got into better condition than when I was a teenager
** Now I have minimal back pain & exercise 5 days per week
