Dr. Steven Kim very professional.
However, the office visit was not professional as expected.
FIrst, I waited 30 min, even though appointment was made.
Second, I had to fill out the form again which I submitted online to minimize the waiting time. The receptionist said she can not find it.??.
It seems that it is first come first serve, appointment is pointless

More about Dr. Steven Kim, MD
***URGENT CARE BUT BILL SAME AS PRIMARY CARE PHYSICIANS***
Dr Steven Kim graduated from Cornell University with a B.A. in Biochemistry and an M.S. from Columbia. He received his Medical Degree at the State University of New York Downstate and trained at Lenox Hill Hospital in Manhattan’s Upper East Side. His years of experience as a physician involve working in both hospital based and outpatient facilities including urgent care, and he has also spent time educating doctors working at Fortune 500 companies such as Johnson & Johnson and Gilead Sciences.
Dr Kim believes that medical care should be easily accessible and convenient for all patients when they need it.
“I grew up with a doctor in my family. My dad is a doctor and my mom was a nurse. Whenever my siblings or I became sick, we rarely went to the ER because my parents took care of us. If I had a hacking cough, my dad would listen to my lungs and treat me. I even remember him stitching up my forehead once when I cut myself as a child. In the same way, I want patients to see our clinic as the “doctor in their family” where they have easy access to good, convenient medical care in a warm and friendly environment. I believe that’s what a good urgent care should provide, and how I wish to treat my patients.”
He enjoys listening to jazz, “attempting” to play the piano, reading nonfiction, and spending time with his wife and two children, Matthew and Ella.

The office is pleasant and my initial reaction was that everyone was very nice and helpful. I was seen quickly and the doctor gave me a prescription for an infection, which seemed in line with the level of illness. However, there were a few things that happened afterward that I believe were unhelpful.
First, the doctor forgot to put the dosage on one of the scripts that I had to take to the pharmacy. Instead of doing an e-script, which the pharmacy suggested, he insisted that I return to the office (despite my having a fever and wanting to just get the medicine and go home) in order to get a new script. That made getting the prescription take an extra half an hour (not much, I guess, but when you are really sick and have a hard time even driving, it's inconvenient). I don't understand why I had to return to the office for the adjusted prescription, when he could have easily done an e-script and made life easier for a sick person.
Then, after about 36 hours, I realized that I was getting little hives. Given that I am prone to allergies, I thought maybe I was allergic to the prescription I was given. I called the office and told them of the situation. I have had to do this in the past with other doctors; that is how I discovered my allergy to sulfa antibiotics. In the past, with other doctors, the pharmacy was simply sent a different prescription, which I then picked up. In this case, they said they'd talk to the doctor and get back to me. The office said they would call me right back, but no one called me back at all. My husband was furious at that. I figured they'd call the next day. They did not.
Finally, I called again the next day and told them my concern, again. Dr. Kim was not in, so the other doctor said I'd have to come in, according to the receptionist "to see the reaction." I told the receptionist the reaction was hives, but because I stopped taking the medicine, I didn't have any anymore. The doctor would be unable to see the reaction. I said I had to work and that driving to the office would be difficult, because of extreme dizziness. No one seemed to care that they would be putting me at risk by making me drive to the office. They said they couldn't prescribe something new without seeing me again and, as I subsequently found out, charge me again.
This entire ordeal has been extremely upsetting. It's not only awful to feel so sick that you don't want to leave your bed, but then to also have to interact with an insensitive receptionist, and neglect important work, all because why? Do they not believe I've had an allergic reaction? Do they need me to tell them in person that I got hives? Why haven't my previous doctors needed that confirmation? I'm allergic to sulfa antibiotics and I don't think any doctor has ever required me to come in to prove that. They simply ask what the reaction is and then prescribe something different. If this particular office wants me to return the unused portion of the antibiotic that I cannot take, I have no problem with that. I can certainly give that to the pharmacy upon picking up my new prescription.
Either way, the worst part is that I have no choice but to, again, return to the office in order to get a new prescription. Not only is it a waste of my valuable time, but I have no interest in interacting with anyone there. After this situation is resolved, I will not be returning.
I should also mention that whenever I've gone to urgent care clinics, I've gotten a follow-up call the next day, to see how I'm doing. This clinic did not do that.

I have seen Dr. Kim in the past when my own primary care physician was not available and am convinced he should be my new primary. My girlfriend also used Dr. Kim, we agree he is extra patient and always gives a comprehensive exam. The staff is polite in a clean office that is run efficiently

Open on Sunday, easy to make appointment, almost no waiting time, Dr. Hong is nice and professional. The reason why I took off one star is because the nurse's skill need to be further improved. She drew blood from my left arm, and left a big bruise, and she gave me a shot, also left bruise.
