More about Dr. Steven Nissman, MD
Dr. Nissman attended medical school at Hahnemann University and received his ophthalmology training at the prestigious Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, DC, where he served as Chief Resident. Following his formal training, Dr. Nissman spent several years teaching Wills Eye Hospital residents at Cooper Hospital in NJ. In 2008 he joined the full-time teaching faculty of the Scheie Eye Institute at Univ. of Pennsylvania as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology and formed Nissman Eye Associates in Plymouth Meeting.
Dr. Nissman provides comprehensive adult and pediatric eye care and performs a wide range of ocular surgery, including LASIK and state of the art no-stitch cataract surgery. He has a focus in oculofacial plastic surgery. He is also the director of the Pennsylvania Diabetic Eye Center.
Dr. Nissman is Board Certified and has published extensively in medical journals. He has been honored with the Golden Apple Teaching Award for excellence in clinical teaching at the University of Pennsylvania.
