About Dr. Avani Amin
Dr. Avani Amin founded Blackstone Eye Center with a desire to integrate vision, beauty and wellness to help achieve her patient’s overall needs. She earned both her Bachelor of Science in Allied Health and her Masters in Allied Health Science at the University of Connecticut. Dr. Amin obtained her Doctorate at the New England College of Optometry where she earned highest clinical honors. She completed her training at various hospitals, private practices and community health center settings, including the number one eye hospital in the nation, Bascom Palmer Eye Institute.
Dr. Amin has extensive knowledge in comprehensive eye exams in pediatrics ages 5 and up and can diagnose, co-manage and treat various ocular conditions such as glaucoma, age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and anterior segment disease including dry eye, corneal ulcers, pink eye and much more. Having the latest technology allows her to diagnose, treat and manage many complicated eye diseases.
Dr. Amin is a licensed therapeutic optometrist and optometric glaucoma specialist. She can fit various soft/hard contact lenses including, but not limited to, toric, mono-vision, and presbyopic lenses. She also specializes in myopia control with MiSight, the first FDA approved soft contact lenses which helps slow down the progression of nearsightedness in children/adolescents.
In her free time, Dr. Amin enjoys working out, traveling, and trying new cuisines with her husband.

This was my first visit to Blackstone Eye Center, and it was such a pleasant experience from top to bottom. I booked my appointment on Zocdoc, however, my appointment time was double-booked by another patient through their website. The staff at Blackstone contacted me right away and offered availability for the same day. At my appointment, the staff was very friendly and accommodating. Dr. Amin was personable, friendly, knowledgeable, and informative. She was able to take the time to explain things in more detail while offering plenty of options for treatment and preventative care. The doctor was very professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. I was shocked and pleased when she actually reviewed my test results with me during the appt. to ensure I understood the results. The office is beautiful and the staff is even better. On top of the great service, I received both pair of glasses on the same day of my eye examine.

Excellent practice! The location is easy to find, and it is clean and welcoming. Dr. Amin is very kind, informative, and ensures that all your concerns are addressed. She took the time to make sure my new Rx was perfect before finalizing it, which I appreciate. The optician who helped me was also very kind and worked with me to get the best deal with my insurance coverage. Highly recommend!

Recently had an eye exam at this clinic, and I couldn't be more pleased with the experience. Dr. Amin and her staff were so helpful and polite. I only waited 5 minutes to be seen, if that! She answered all of my questions and helped with all of my concerns. They also have a good amount of great frames to look through as well.

Absolutely loved Dr Amin. She handled my 6 year old very smoothly and took her time with her. She listened to my concerns and went all out with it! The staff was also great and everyone just seemed so friendly and helpful! I had to bring her in as self-pay but Dr Amin and her staff are so worth it! She is wonderful for pediatric patients! Kids also get a special treat at the end. My girl loved it!
