Dr. Bernstein is the best podiatrist I have seen (and I have seen many). He is the first doctor that sat me down and explained why my condition was happening to me rather than rush to just do the procedure likemany other doctors have done. He was very gentle, caring, and an all around amazing physician.

The customer reviews for him are what made me choose him and he's even better than his reviews. I thought I was going to have to have a shot or surgery, what other podiatrists have said, and he offered about 12different solutions. He answers calls immediately, and talks alot. Advice, drink some coffee before you see him because he will be giving you an outpouring of knowledge. He is amazing!

Just came from my visit with Dr. Bernstein, and it could not have gone any better. I've been limping around the city with a mysterious foot infection for a week, and - within minutes of arriving - Dr. Bernstein has extracteda piece of plastic from the sole of my foot, likely something I picked up on the beach that he was able to remove. A miracle worker! Dr. Bernstein and his staff were friendly, accommodating, and polite. Highly recommended!

The best, most informed doctor I could have had! I had been struggling with a leg issue and not sure where to start. The doctor was VERY informative ( he even used charts and diagrams to explain what he was referringto so I could understand even better) I left with piece of mind and a treatment plan.

Great doctor, very knowledgeable about the RARE problem my toe nail. His X-ray machine was not working when I went then I had to come back, but that was fine with me, I was able to know what was wrong withmy crazy toe, I will need a surgery that he does not does so he hook me up with another doctor. I recommend him because he takes his time and does not try to sell you things. And of curse many years of experience on top. Great doctor and lovely staff !

I would highly recommend dr. Bernstein. He explains everything to detail he listens to what you have to say as well as to your opinion, then he explains with details and description exactly what he thinks and the solution that hehas for your problem. He is willing to work with you and the best of all he gives you options and times to think about your auction. We came up to the conclusion that I needed orthopedic shoes, they might be a little pricey but hey if it could take the pain and it helps you get to point a to point B with no pain and a long time of 3 to 4 years without seeing a doctor unless it's just the follow up why not do the investment. When at the end of the day your investment is only going to help you and improve your health. So with that said I highly recommend him.

Dr. Bernstein was thorough, asked questions about my history of back pain and ankle injury, and took the time to explain his diagnosis of my problem (plantar fibroma). He took a plaster mold of my feet to fit me for orthodontics, which I am very happy about as I am not interested in shots or surgery. He is not one to rush to any invasive procedures and took a very holistic approach to my problem, integrating into my treatment the biomechanics of how I walk and carry myself. I highly recommend him.

The wait time was approximately 45 minutes. When I arrived for my scheduled appt he had just walked into see another patient. After approximately 40 minutes, the receptionist came to the room I was in and told me he should becoming to me next. She explained that he likes to take his time with patients which is why he's behind schedule. Anyways, I came in for toe nail fungus, amongst some other foot concerns. One of the concerns I had was a damaged toe nail. He recommended that I should look into it, if that's a major concern of mines. Which honestly, it is. Had problem since childhood. But anyways, he never told me what the cosmetic procedure was called. So I'm not actually able to look into it. Suppose a general Google search might produce more answers that I got from him. Just like all the previous reviews, orthotics is the cure all to foot problems. And without my permission, he told me that he would order them. It was like he said my insurance would cover it so he can order it, customized to my feet, one per year. I read the reviews so I expected him to push the orthotics. I just decided to give him the benefit of the doubt to see for myself. Since he was near my other medical providers and work. Aside from that, I didn't feel like he took his time. Felt rushed and any concerns I had regarding the care of my feet, orthotics was the answer. With the exception to my toe nail fungus of course. Now, getting back to the treatment of the toe nail fungus, he told me he has medicine in his office that he could "give me." Verbatim. Then when I walked to the counter, about to leave, he tells me it's $25. I'm a little taken aback. The money wasn't the issue. The issue was he said "give." He did not say that I had to buy it or that it was available to purchase. So I was not expecting to pay I know plenty of Dr.'s who get meds for free and give them to patients free of charge. Pharmaceutical companies push meds all the time. Which is why some Dr.'s have meds on hand in their offices. Next, I told him that my health plan gives over the counter meds for patients, for the cost of $.50 to the patient; with a written prescription from the Dr. Then He tells me no, that's not true, my plan isn't going to cover OTC meds, and why would they for toe nail fungus. He kept pushing me to his item. So to end this ignorance, I pulled out my insurance card to show him, with the proof right there. In his face. Plain as day. Then I Walked off. Left office. Done deal for me. It's okay, if you don't know something. No one knows everything but to tell me I am wrong, before you educate yourself is not cool. Then you he got mad when I don't want to purchase item. I overall, I had a very, very, poor experience here. And frankly, I will not return. And would not recommend him at all. I'll find another foot Dr. After all this is New York. You can find another one in a heart beat.

Dr Bernstein's staff and office are fine. I had to wait almost an hour to see him because his office had double booked appointments. His bedside manner was very good, and he spent the requisite time to investigate and diagnose theissue. However, what others say about him trying to sell orthotics is true. He wasn't a pushy salesman, but he was very keen to have the conversation.

Dr. Bernstein's office staff is very nice, but it is taking him months to call in my orthotics authorization, and when I call, he is consistently out of the office or traveling. I feel like he forgot or doesn't care aboutmy need for orthotics, because it has been two months since I saw him.

I would never ever go to this doctor again. He talks and talks and never lets me get a word in. He was trying to sell me products and when I wouldn't buy it, he was pretty much like "Ok, yourloss, not my problem." kind of attitude. SO rude. I would absolutely not recommend this doctor.
