Dr. Richard Teter is a podiatrist who practices at Mount Sinai Doctors - Brooklyn Heights, with special interests in Sports Medicine and Biomechanics. Dr. Teter grew up in Ohio and graduated from college with a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering and a Minor in Bioengineering. He received his postgraduate education from Temple University, where he earned his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) degree. Following this, he completed a comprehensive three-year residency at Lenox Hill Hospital (New York, NY), with an added credential in reconstructive rearfoot/ankle surgery.
Throughout his career, Dr. Teter has had the privilege of treating a diverse range of patients, including professional athletes, Broadway performers, and professional ballet dancers. His expertise encompasses various procedures and surgeries of the foot and ankle.
An avid runner himself, Dr. Teter has participated in numerous races of all distances, including marathons, and continues to train on a regular basis. He holds a running coach certification from the Road Runners Club of America and remains committed to ongoing education to provide the best care for his patients. Additionally, he volunteers in the medical tent at various races, including the New York City Marathon.
Apart from his professional commitments, Dr. Teter is an outdoor enthusiast who enjoys road biking, hiking, and backpacking trips. He is dedicated to keeping his patients on their feet so they can continue to do what they enjoy and love.

Didn’t have much guidance other than getting dancers pads and ointment prescription for the inflammation. Maybe PT but didn’t exactly prescribe. Didn’t even take x ray and said to come back if it lasts and gets worse to get x ray next time. Sooo I guess I waited until it got worse.

Had an ok experience with the provider. I really had to push for what I wanted. Felt he was kind of brusque, not very empathetic, and made a lot of assumptions. He also said I'd have to come back to take a sample, which would take less than a minute and coming back would be another copay. I pushed back and he said I could only do it if I was able to confirm coverage of the test within a couple minutes because he would be leaving exactly 30 minutes after my appointment was scheduled (though, of course we didn't start right on time because you never do). Fortunately, I was able to confirm coverage and take the sample. But it was definitely on me to push for that to avoid another copay, and to push for the prescription I wanted. Seemed knowledgeable, just not the most comfortable/comforting to be around

I loved the office. Large and well outfitted, though a lot of walking if your foot is injured. I felt everyone was kind and knowledgeable, I look forward to coming back!
