After completing my pediatric training in New York in 2002, I practiced for 7 years in Kansas City before moving to California in 2010. Why? For the answer, I direct you to the winter storms of 2009-10!
I have two children, ages 7 and 3 years, and I take my role as a mother very seriously, always trying to balance it with my career. As most of us know, some days are better than others! We have been enjoying all the wonderful activities in and around Southern California and I always love to hear more suggestions from the families I take care of in the office.
As a pediatrician I love the role I am allowed to play in my patients' lives. A sounding board, an adviser, a confidante and a thoroughly competent physician, I always strive to be the kind of pediatrician I would take my own children to.
I enjoy seeing the wide range of ages as well - from newborns to the college years. Every age is unique and I thrive on the challenge and variety that brings to my day. I have also recently noticed a growing trend in my practice - teen girls and their moms love that I can provide a wide variety of adolescent services in a pediatric office setting.
I am also an educator and teach students at USC's Keck School of Medicine once a week. I believe in continually growing and challenging myself as a person, and I'm currently enrolled in a Masters program in Medical Education.
I have travelled a lot over the years. I grew up in the Middle East, went to Medical School in Pakistan, and have lived in 3 different time zones in the US. I look forward to staying put in Orange County and watching my patients and their families grow up healthy and happy.
