Susan L Andrew, MD graduated from Brown University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. She worked for two years as a research assistant in the Department of Tumor Immunology at the Sidney Farber Cancer Institute in Boston, MA. She then attended medical school at the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Columbia University in New York. Following graduation, she trained in Internal Medicine at Memorial Hospital at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill and Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, TX. She completed her fellowship in Allergy and Immunology at Baylor College of Medicine. She entered private practice in Allergy and Immunology in 1988. She is involved in teaching students at Baylor College of Medicine and the University of Texas Health Care System (UTMB and UT Houston). She is a preceptor for students for the Texas Association of Internal Medicine. She is a past president of the Greater Houston Allergy Society. She is a current delegate to the Texas Medical Association by serving as the Interspecialty Society representative for the Texas Asthma, Allergy and Immunology Society. She attends state and national meetings to continue her medical education. She is involved in research which helps keep her up to date in the newest therapies. She has been designated as a Superdoctor in Texas in the field of Allergy and Immunology. She has been involved in civic associations as well and has been given the Unsung Hero Award for Galveston Daily News, she is a Paul Harris Award recipient for Rotary International. She has been the recipient of the Roll of Fame Award for Rotary District 5910. Dr. Andrew and her husband have three grown sons and live on the Mainland in Galveston County.
